Historia
Would you believe it took nearly 500 years to translate the ESV (English Standard Version) Bible? That's because the ESV builds on the great translations of the past - including William Tyndale's New Testament of 1526 and the King James Version (KJV) of 1611. But the ESV Bible also builds on the best Christian scholarship of the last 100 years.

Extrabiblical narration
Revisado: 04-25-24
The narrator for this book, for some reason, adds speech affectation to whenever someone is speaking - stutters, exclamations, emotional tones, etc. This result of this is that what the narrator is saying doesn't exactly reflect the text of the Bible. it is very minor, and wouldn't be a problem if this weren't a religious text. I prefer the ESV, but because of the narration I'll be finding another translation for my audio Bible.

Historia
It would be hard if not outright impossible to overstate the impact Roman Emperor Constantine I had on the history of Christianity, Ancient Rome, and Europe as a whole. Best known as Constantine the Great, the kind of moniker only earned by rulers who have distinguished themselves in battle and conquest, Constantine remains an influential and controversial figure to this day.

Lack of focus, misleading title.
Revisado: 04-30-22
Chapters are entirely too long and cover too much to actually be a useful tool. Very little to do with the Byzantine Army in terms of content, except general summaries of some battles. There is a lengthy section devoted to quoting an extremely detailed architectural description of the Hagia Sophia and its history, for example. The book is fine if you are looking to read about the exploits of some of the more well known Emperors and general Byzantine history, but the title is very much misleading otherwise.
