Historia
In 2008, nine mountaineers failed to return from a winter backpacking trip in the New Mexico mountains. At their final campsite, searchers found a bizarre scene: something had appeared at the door of their tent so terrifying that it impelled them to slash their way out and flee barefoot to certain death in a blizzard. Despite a diligent search, only six bodies were found, two violently crushed and inexplicably missing their eyes. The case, given the code name “Dead Mountain” by the FBI, was never solved. Now, two more bodies from the lost expedition are unexpectedly discovered in a cave.

Exciting as Always
Revisado: 09-10-23
I loved this book. These are two of my all time favorite authors. This story line reminded me of the 9 hikers that were lost in the Ural Mountains, in what is known as the Dyatlov Pass Incident, between February 1 and 2, 1959. The descriptions of what befell the hikers in our story, that led to their deaths very closely followed the descriptions of what happens to the Ural Mountain hackers. I felt like perhaps the authors used the Ural Mountain incident as a template for their story. I loved the way that they figured out what had happened to the hikers, and explained what had caused the extensive injuries that they sustained.
Although I do like Cory, nobody comes close to my hero, Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast. Please could you revive him for the entertainment of an ever hungry audience? Or, just me.🥰

Everyone - the police, her parents, even her best friend and younger sister - is convinced that Adam left her. But Grace, unable to let go of her memories of their love and life together, cannot accept this explanation.

Love the setting
Revisado: 08-26-23
This would have been a much better novel, had the main character not been so prone to hysteria! My goodness she drove me nuts with her over active imagination. Otherwise I enjoyed the story and the setting. Most of the people were a bit weird, but aren’t we all?

I really didn’t care for this story. I had I figured out long before the end. I thought that it wasn’t very interesting. Nor were the characters unforgettable. I’m sorry, I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone I know.

Historia
The "maddog" murderer who is terrorizing the Twin Cities is two things: insane and extremely intelligent. He kills for the pleasure of it and thoroughly enjoys placing elaborate obstacles to keep police befuddled. Each clever move he makes is another point of pride. But when the brilliant Lieutenant Lucas Davenport, a dedicated cop and a serial killer's worst nightmare, is brought in to take up the investigation, the maddog suddenly has an adversary worthy of his genius.

Hugo was a dog. He died. Now he's a kitten. As Hugo adjusts to his new body (not just a cat - a baby cat!), his new home (San Francisco), his new outside (Where are the mountains? Where is the lake?), and his sudden urge to sit in every box he sees, he wonders if he'll ever see Cassie or Jerry again.

I recently went through the loss of a beloved pet. He was a Dachshund that I’ve had since he was eight weeks old. It has been so totally devastating that I’ve had a very hard time coping with his loss. Gus was my best friend and confidant. He got sick and one thing led to another and we couldn’t save him. So thirteen and a half years after being with him through thick and thin my most precious baby was gone. I felt like he was Truly a person. He left behind an old Tom cat named Spooky, and a brother named Max, another dachshund, and my husband. We are all broken hearted. Gussy had such a big sweet personality. This story was very sweet. It told me that the author has suffered the loss of a beloved pet and it takes time to come to terms with that loss.

Historia
Murder. Scandal. Politics. And one billionaire heiress so dangerous in so many ways. An explosive Lucas Davenport thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author John Sandford. All hell has broken loose in the capital. An influential state senator has been caught with something very, very nasty on his office computer. The governor can’t believe it - the senator’s way too smart for that, even if he is from the other party. Something’s not right.

Loved the story
Revisado: 05-10-23
Mr. Riddle has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I am quickly enthralled with his writing. He always leaves me wanting the story to be longer. Every book I’ve read seemed that it could be plausible at some point in our future. I think that’s what makes me love his style so much.
