The story was exciting, interesting, and romantic. I loved all the secondary characters just as much as the main characters. I wanted to know what happened to all of them and hope some appear in future books in the series. The vocal performances were all excellent. I highly recommend it.

There was so much more than a romance here. The murder mystery and psychic angles made for a very well rounded read. I think I will listen again!

I was captivated by the love story between an ex-military soldier, Rockford, who has lived his life denying his true sexuality who meets Carter, a man trapped in the job as an escort because of the rejection of his family. Both men have suffered from society's prejudice against their sexuality.

These two men meet as Rockford discreetly hires an escort. Carter immediately recognizes Rockford as a socially awkward man who is fighting his own sexual needs. Carter gently guides Rockford to a better acceptance of his own needs while finding in each other a special kinship that soon develops into friendship and love. Along the way, we come to know each of these lonely men who have suffered because of their sexual orientation.

The book does a great job of developing these characters. It also serves as a reminder that love happens in many different colors and orientations. Why do people see a need to torture and punish people based on their sexual orientation when they are simply trying to love someone. I highly recommend the book for people who enjoy the transforming power of love.

This story is written so well and is so engaging that I don't hesitate to recommend it. This is a new author to me, but I will be following him to see what else he writes.

The two main characters are fire fighters in New York who have been best friends for years. They were on the scene during the 9/11 attacks, and the author's descriptions of the rescue efforts and mass casualties are incredibly poinient. I was very impressed by the writing of the characters ' back stories, and he continued to surprise me with the very believable transition of these two close friends to budding lovers. I will be reading this one again.

The narrator was excellent for the story, so I was able to enjoy "reading " while driving. Very nice audio book!

I get so excited to find a new author and series to follow! After this book, I will be reading all of Dianne Duvall's books.

I enjoyed the great characterizations in the story. As each new character appeared, I was immediately drawn to his back story and found myself wanting to know more. I can't wait to learn more as I progress through the series. That is how a good writer grabs you, and Duvall has my attention. I read a lot, and this author really stands out as a beautiful story teller, with nice, crisp dialogue and polished presentation.

This book was about Roland and Sarah. Roland is an immortal Guardian, a powerful protector of humans against rogue vampires who would indescrimatly kill innocents. Roland was a grumpy, anti-social member of the Guardian community until he fell for one of the humans he finds himself protecting. Sarah is totally shocked to discover the existence of vampires, and at first struggles to see the difference between them and the man who claims to be a Guardian who wishes to help her. As the story unfolds, the author seamlessly created the world of th Immortal Guardians. There are plenty of reviews that summarize the story. I just want to say that this book is totally worth jumping on to the ride to begin this wonderful journey with the Immortal Guardians series.

The narrator was very good, and I heard this book as part of my Audible Romance Package, so I am thrilled to see that there are so many more books in the series for me to binge-read! Well worth a reading credit, and if you don't know about Audible 's Romance Package, you should check it out!

Lora Leigh's Elite Ops series gets off to a start with this haunting and bittersweet love story. Nathan Malone is a navy seal who is happily married to Bella. But you don't really understand that from the beginning, as the story unfolds after a harrowing event in Nathan's life has already changed everything.

Chapter one begins as a still grief-stricken Bella, years after Nathan was "killed" in action, struggles to keep her husband's garage in business. But the reader knows Nathan is not dead. A mission went terribly wrong. Nathan had been captured, and tortured and drugged for long months and came out a completely changed man after he was rescued. A long period of surgeries and recovery still left behind a man tormented in mind and convinced he could never be the man his beloved wife had married. Of all the things in this book, this particular plot development is the hardest to stomach. Why would someone who loved his wife so dearly, allow her to grieve his loss believing she was better off heartbroken than seeing how much he had changed? I never bought into that.

Nevertheless, the story progresses as Nathan, now known as Noah Blake, returns to Bella to protect her from the evil people who were responsible for spreading the dangerous drug that was used on Nathan while in captivity. Nathan/Noah gets hired on as a new mechanic in his own garage where he works undercover to try to identify the people who endanger everyone with the spread of the "whore's dust." Another stretch for our imagination, but we are to believe all his surgeries have sufficiently changed his looks and voice so his own brother and wife don't recognize him.

More flashbacks reveal the insidious nature of "whore's dust" and the evil bad guy, Fuentes. These flashbacks set up future story lines that we will see in books that follow in the series. And we come to see Nathan/Noah transform into a skilled killer in a shadow elite ops group in the time after his recovery. So when he finally comes back into Bella's life, we are to believe he is a very different man. What hasn't changed is his love for Bella.

The bulk of the remainder of the book is about Noah working to protect Bella, resist Bella, and ultimately beginning a new relationship with Bella as Noah Blake. There is intrigue, bad guys, danger, and sex. You have to read the book to find out more. The love between Bella and Nathan/Noah is so intense that you can just imagine her heartbreak when she believes she has lost him, and feel her absolute elation and anger when suspecting Noah's true identity. The narration by Clarissa Knightly is excellent, and makes this a compelling listen. I believe it is definitely worth one of your credits!

Christine Feehan is a master at what she does. The Ghostwalker series is her best. Street Game is an exciting continuation of this great series. The 8th book in this series, Street game has a storyline that fleshes out characterizations for an entire team of Ghostwalkers in this popular series. Mack McKinley is the leader of his team, and he and his fellow Ghostwalkers return to San Francisco to find and protect Jaimie Fielding, the one member of their group who fled years ago to protect her heart and establish a life of her own away from the overprotective men who have watched over her since she was a young girl.

I love how well this whole team of characters comes alive in this story. I am hoping to see more of the team in years to come because now I am totally invested in these men. I read all of the books in this series, and so I know some of them have already received their story, but I'm still eagerly awaiting more. Some reviews indicate that the men are far too controlling in this book. I disagree. Jamie is a strong woman who clearly has established a life for herself apart from these men, so she is not the kind of woman to allow herself to be controlled. I think Jamie has finally reached a place in her life where she is ready to confront the strong feelings she escaped when she ran from Mack and the rest of the team. Now she has the maturity to see and accept the protective tendencies of Mack and the men she grew up with, and she has the strength to stand up and demand explanations for past misunderstandings.

In this book, Jamie and Mack find their way back to each other romantically, and there are plenty of sex scenes there, but I love how the rest of the men also settle in the warehouses Jamie has purchased on the waterfront, and want to establish a base that they can all call 'Home'. The urban setting and the concept of 'urban warfare' is very interesting. I won't give it away, but there are some exciting turns, betrayal, and answers as well as more questions about the demented Dr. Whitlney.

I love Tom Stechshulte as narrator. With so many male characters, the deep male voice is a welcome choice for this book.

A sweet romance without a lot of bickering and contrived angst. I loved the humor shared by all the characters. The lead characters were both really neat people who made you root for their HEA. Even though the hero, Jake, went through a horrific ordeal as a teen, he has grown into a kind and honorable man that deserves the sweet and irreverent Casey. The two of them are perfect complements for each other. And all the ancillary characters are fun, too.

The dual narrators were excellent at bringing these characters to life. I highly recommend this enjoyable audible book!

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed all three of these western romances! The narrator had nice accents for his characters and an engaging reading style for a western setting.

Each of the stories was unique from the others, yet they shared the same characters from story to story. But each book showcased the relationship and marriage of one particular couple at a time. I loved how you get to know the characters and get to stay in their lives over the telling of three stories! You know how you often end a book and wish you could have spend more time with the characters. Well this way, you get to do just that!

Hearing these stories reminded me of watching old Gunsmoke reruns only these had more humor and fun and less blood and death.

For lighthearted fun and clean romance, I don't think you will find many audible stories that will surpass these. I recommend these audible listens by Linda Bridey!
