Not impressive

I struggled through this but did listen to the whole thing despite some substandard narration. I bought the audiobook because prior reviews led me to believe there were puzzle pieces filling in details for the main books in the Outlander series. I did not find that to be wholly true. BUT I listened to the whole thing, and was neither entertained or enlightened. I will wait for book 9.

Narration issues.

The subject matter was fascinating but Karen’s narration was sorely lacking. She was reading without emotion to the point that I had to skip over almost everything she contributed.

Horrible narration

The content is excellent but after trying several times I can’t listen to the narrator. Mispronunciations aside it was like listening to a fourth grader read text verbatim. Really a shame.

I'm not sure if it's the narrator or the story itself but I can't listen to it. Not even one chapter in. And I am a Juliet Marillier fan.

I thought this was an Irish tale

The story is wonderful but it's odd listening to a North American accented narrator. Who made that decision? Seriously detracts, especially with so many references to being in Ireland. I'm not sure I can finish the book.

Substandard Narration

This is an excellent book, the author has a story and a message to share. Unfortunately the narration is grating on the nerves to the point that I could only get through two chapters. I'm going to buy the book and read it.

Horrible book.

This book is so clinical I couldn't finish it. I love history, I am spiritual and logical. Still couldn't get into it. It's like having someone read stereo instructions to you. I even tried to think of it as an episode of Dragnet (it's that dry), but was unable to convince myself.

Her voice is lovely, her ability to express herself inspiring.

If you are looking for Spiritual growth and answers this is the book you need to read. She has no ulterior motive other than to let the world know who and what we are. I've read hundreds, may thousands, of books in the last 40 years on this subject. This is the first I would recommend without reservation.

Disappointed

What disappointed you about Soul Shifts?

The promise of life changing soul shifts didn't happen. It was repetitious, there were too many stories of her experiences and no real instruction about how to get there yourself. Most of us don't have the ability to globe trot for enlightenment.

What could Barbara De Angelis have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Real revelation. There is so much more she could have shared with her readers... such as what we really are and that reality is an illusion created to enable us to fulfill our karma in each lifetime and reach our goal of oneness with the Source.

I don't recommend this book for people looking for enlightenment, there are no answers and there is no guidance in in.
