Concrete thinking , simplistic, and misleading for people who would do better to actually see a therapist or counselor.

Deeply Moving

Great character development. A story so often untold of a persons journey to reckoning with the ghosts of the past. Although therapy helped her she was able to cross that threshold because of simple acts of kindness from a fellow worker. Would love to have more development of his character, maybe in another book.

Best of the midnight series so far

I like Fiji as the main character. Other characters are getting more developed. The voices for the men are a bit strange and off putting. A lot of Irish kilts in there. Good car ride reading

Rough start blah ending

I like the idea and atmosphere Charmaine created at Midnight Texas. It was a little more difficult to get invested in the beginning and like her other series the characters are quaint and interesting. However the ending left me feeling kind of blah and not feeling overly inspired to keep reading more. Although I like this narrator in other series some if the character voices I recognized and didn't feel they fit for these characters. Worth a listen though

Sophomoric and paternalistic.

Where do I begin? How to become an irresistible woman? The problem is that women spend so much time becoming irresistible they forget about themselves. Filled with famous quotes followed by trite and shallow interpretations and observations. Narration is painful as if he'd never read his own words out loud. The obvious works of another millennial golden child who was told that all he touches is gold.

Wandering aimlessly and disappointed

All the characters are angry and miserable and fight constantly throughout the book. The plot meanders with an ending you almost miss.

Narrator should at least learn how to pronounce medical terms at the least.

An excellent read!!

I was captivated from beginning to end. A poignant story that illustrates the strength and fortitude of a mother raising her son, surviving poverty, domestic violence and living under apartheid. Trevor Noah's ability to synthesize his experiences of growing up biracial and finding his identity among many cultures in a warm humorous and loving way.
