MacDonald offers a convincing Biblically-based and logically sound rebutable of many of the heresies that have crept into 'orthodox' Christianity. It contains powerful explanations of why eternal conscious torment, substitutionary atonement, and imputed righteousness, to name just a few of the sacred cows that he slaughters in this masterpiece, are truly 'doctrines of demons'. I was especially impacted to hear his scholarly treatment of the 'spirit of adoption' mistranslation and what that means to the heart of a child.

This is essential listening to any serious follower of Christ. The narration and presentation is exceptionally well done.

Good content but somewhat repetitive presentation

Having really enjoyed another book by this author, I might have had excessive expectations for this one. This is a daily meditation format and, although the content is good, I found it was too repetitive for me to complete the whole series. I'm sure it's good if you can arrange to listen to a single chapter at the same time each day but that just didn't work for me. It's good info however.

Every Christian should listen to this book

This is a thoroughly balanced and Biblical explanation of the love of God which is presented in a theologically sound yet refreshingly simple and practical manner. I really didn't expect to be surprised as I listend to it yet I can honestly say that my eyes were opened to new truths throughout. The convincing explanation of what agape love actually is, the alternative, yet all so commonly implied, renderings of John 3:16, and the explanation that God designed and created humanity with the expressed purpose to be His temple, His body, His family, and His bride, were just some of the amazing revelations that really impacted me. I'm sure this is a book that I will be returning to again and again, and I see how it could be easily applied for an edifying group Bible study. The narration fits pefectly with the text and is very well done.

Sadly disappointing

I was sadly disappointed by this book as I love experiencing the presence of the Kingdom and believe in the reality of living as His little children in this world. Unfortunately, I found the presentation style was very "preachy" and in the second person tense, tell us what we have to understand and do. It also appeared to be very "Kingdom now", focussing solely on the moments of manifestation as if that was the only reality of the Kingdom, even while the author acknowledge that, despite telling people that healings happen when he prays, that isn't always the case. Of coure, we have the examples of Jesus' own ministry when He clearly didn't heal everybody everywhere all the time.

I wish the author well and love the themes promised by this book, but was unable to continue hearing it. I received it as a free audiobook token, and although I feel I should therefore be leaving a glowing review, I just can't do it.

A very inspiring book

As a work of fiction I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book, however I very pleasantly suprised. It contains many wonderful revelations of Abba's love and strongly recommend it.

Wow, this is an eye opening book and very helpful

The first part of this book is rather depressing as it highlight the problem that we currently face with the deliberate destruction of local community in our consumer-driven socities. However, the second part is very inspring as it gives practice examples and solutions for building true community at the local level.

A great presentation of the New Testament church

Although Frank has recently said that he finishing an expanding version of this book, I was still very impressed with the way that origional version takes the story of the New Testament and brings it alive. I can't wait for the updated version!
