This has been my favorite Stormlight Archive book to date. I cannot believe how fast the hours flew by while listening. I feel like so many of the characters grew as well as the world itself.

This is a cute, classic Amelia Bedelia story. Lots of the funny bits work much better with the visuals of the illustrations but it's still a fun, quick listen. The reader is *perfection.*

I'm a huge fan of the Expanse series and wasn't sure what to expect with a different series. I was not disappointed. I'm already looking forward to the next book in this series. It was so different from The Expanse but compelling for the same reasons: fantastic, relatable and complex characters, alien minds and the reminder to not anthropomorphize them; not everything thinks and values things like a human.

Mays brings it all to life with another fantastic reading. He is the perfect voice for Daniel and Ty's creations.

This was an entertaining story with many interesting characters and surprising events; a wholesome romp with lots of imagination. My complaints were minor: there were sprinklings of random points of view away from the two main characters that seemed out of place, Andy (the main character) was a little too perfect, and sometimes the peril didn't seem dire because of the constant lightheartedness. None of these notes ruin anything, by any means. This would be a solid choice for a family road trip. There's adventure, humor, a mystery and a cast of characters brought to life by a fantastic reader. The voices were very distinct and fun. I enjoyed my time with the Misfits and I'm looking forward to the next book, especially with the cliffhanger ending!

I loved it! Many listeners had a hard time with Judy's voice but I thought she was perfect. The book was written in a journal style with Kate's voice (Judy Greer) being the main storyteller. While it was fun hearing Nathan Fillion, Kate Mulgrew and Jeff Daniels once in a while, Judy takes up the most "airtime." She did well to change with her character, starting off with forced cheerfulness with vapid concerns and gradually morphing into a tone of seriousness.

The sincerity of these recounts mixed with a bit of suspended disbelief made for a fun and chilling listen. If you liked World War Z and if you've ever had a creeping suspicion that something is watching you from the woods, you'll probably get a kick out of this. At the end, I found myself googling "Did Roosevelt really write about Bigfoot?"

Parental Guide: (minor, potential spoilers below)
-Scattered pockets of strong/adult language
-lengthy descriptions of detailed gore, violence and death

As the subtitle claims, these stories are indeed creepy (not scary). I liked some of them far more than others. Pretty much any tale involving a grandmother, I didn't care for. I would not want to be a grandmother in these stories.

I found myself liking the shorter stories rather than the longer, drawn out ones.

Stephen Wolfe did a pretty good job narrating, but he sounded a little rushed and out of breath in parts.

All in all, it was a dark and spooky listen. Great for the Halloween season!

I love how Scalzi strong with unique plots in both short story form and long. The Dispatcher is no exception. I'd love to see a movie made based on this book.

Jem Matzan did a fantastic reading of The Not-World and was the reason I agreed to listen to the book based on the preview. The tones were clear, the voices distinct and the animation of story telling was entertaining. Whatever issues I took with the book itself, it was always a joy to listen to with one exception: I personally dislike the editing choice of stacking layers of the reader's audio tracks to convey multiple people speaking/singing at once. Just read the words, we use our imagination for the rest of the book, we can handle imagining more than one voice at once.

While the story arc of the plot was fairly predictable (and let's be honest, most books do follow some classic formulas) the details within the plot points were unique enough to keep my interest. I liked that the heroine wasn't a spunky 16 year old with perfect hair; she was an adult with some physical problems. To compliment this, the hero wasn't a brooding underwear model in his 20s either. Dylan was certainly a tad self depreciating at times, but it never came across as darkly emotional about it.

There were a few unexpected (dare I say "ridiculous"?)scenes that I'm sure various listeners/readers will react to differently. I can think of a very specific instance where I know I had "wtf" written all over my face while listening, but I can just as easily see someone laughing their head off in response.

Most fans of Lindsey's art are also fans of Lindsey the person too, and for good reason. She's always been incredibly open and accessible to her followers. Within her interviews or behind-the-scenes videos, she'll do or say something that will resonate with pretty much everyone. Her gracious and respectful attitude towards her fans is endearing, humble and refreshing. It makes us all feel like we're her friends, and that connectivity is also there in her and Brooke's book.

Listening to The Only Pirate at the Party made me feel like I spent the day with a kindred spirit. Lindsey bravely opens her hearts to all of us with a sincerity that makes her funny stories come alive, her embarrassing moments induce sympathetic cringing, and her honest confessions prompt introspective examining of one's own heart.

While listening in my car, I had to pull off to the side of the road when Lindsey's voice almost broke while talking about her friend Gavi - she wasn't just reading her own words into a mic for her audio book, she was sharing a personal part of her heart. It was such a raw moment that it moved me to tears.

Through her various experiences, adventures and hard-learned lessons, Lindsey radiates joy. By joy I don't mean a manic, sugary fake or cheesy happiness. True joy runs deep, and can be in your heart even if you're in pain. It's something that can be demonstrated by knowing who you are, flaws and all, and loving yourself in spite of it - as well as "tough" loving yourself enough to keep challenging your own self to change and grow. Lindsey and Brooke's words demonstrates this honest joy on every "page" and I found it infectious.

As odd as this is going to sound from a perfect stranger on the internet, I am proud of Lindsey for this book, and I'm so happy to have listened to it. I'm inspired, and now I'm going to go do something with that inspiration.

This short story is incredibly entertaining and very much worth a listen. It's clever, it's funny and I was a bit sorry it was over as soon as it was. It's the kind of story I could imagine being told while sitting next to a campfire. Michael Gilboe is a talented reader and really made the story alive in audio form. Also The Drunken Unicorn is pretty much the best tavern name ever. I'll certainly be checking out the other short stories that Moss has released.
