Moved very quickly but still great

I felt the story moved way too quickly and was so short I had to replay chapters to really catch everything that happened. I’m a huge fan of the TV show so I wanted to listen/read the books. I didn’t realize Eve was so much more emotional in the books than she is in the series. I was shocked at how often Eve would be crying or super close to tears. In the TV series she just seems snarky, angry, and hilariously dark yet relatable. I still loved the story despite the small differences. I hope the dynamic duo Eve and V actually do end up “together” at the end of the series, or at least both alive and available to continue their little mind games. This is definitely a book I’ll listen to again in the near future!

I’m hooked!!

I really really like this series. I find the character deeply intriguing. I have my favorites of course but literally everyone seems interesting to me so I’m never bored. I’m excited to purchase the next book and jump right back in this fascinating fae world. Especially after that cliffhanger!! Mind blowing!

Captivating

I found this book so captivating from the very beginning. I really enjoyed the narrators voices and the personality and livelihood they brought to each character. The humor, sexual tension, and paranormal interactions of the story was giving me Shelly Laurenston and P.C. Cast, if they teamed up and wrote a story together. I love reading about different shifters or fae kind! Leon the lion was definitely my favorite because he was such a stereotypical vain Leo and cracked me up. Looking forward to the next book.

Issa Rae is exactly what we need

I love that she read it herself. You can really hear how genuinely awkward she felt in certain situations. I could hear how excited or devastation she was as well. Her experiences are very relatable and overall inspiring. We all have our own quirks and obstacles in life, despite that we can overcome and achieve inspirational things by staying passionate and determined.

Decent writing but the story fell flat

I feel like I’ve read this story before. Sure, high school drama usually feels recycled and redundant but this story had an opportunity to add unique points that could’ve made this more rememberable. The popular guy Oliver turned into a psycho narcissist and there was zero hints to this side of him before the incident so it didn’t feel believable to me. Probably because most of the characters aren’t fully developed beside the main two. I wanted more backstory of the two main characters when Luka’s Dad was still alive and how things suddenly changed for them after his death. It would help make the story more believable and relatable as well.
