Historia
Kahlan has at last gained the one goal she had always thought was beyond her grasp...love. Against all odds, the ancient bonds of secret oaths, and the dark talents of men long dead, Richard has won her heart. Amid sudden and disastrous events, Richard's life is called due to satisfy those treacherous oaths. To save his life, Kahlan must forsake Richard's love and cast him into the chains of slavery, knowing there could be no sin worse than such a betrayal.

Good Read and Great continuation
Revisado: 01-17-12
This book picks up right were the previous one left off. This book splits and follows a few of the characters on there different paths. This book is more involved than the first, but the story is still just as great as the first book. The narration was not as good as the first book. The narrator starts off almost robotic, but slowly gets better. There are many adult situations in this book and it is not for young readers.

Good Read
Revisado: 11-30-11
If you like the TV-series based on the book you will love the book, in-spite of the many differences. If you hated the TV-series you will love the book because it is far better than the show was. Not a complicated read (no large sub-plots) but a good story. Very adult oriented at times not for young readers

Historia
Prince Gaborn, the Earth King, has defeated the forces arrayed against him each time before: the magical and human forces marshaled by Raj Ahten, who seeks immortality at any cost and has given up his humanity in trade; and the inhuman, innumerable, insectile hordes of the giant Reavers from under the Earth, whose unknowable motives are inimical to human life.

Great ending to a great series
Revisado: 11-09-11
This book wraps up the series perfectly. All the fast paced action that you would expect from the first three books, plus an epic ending. I can't wait for the 4 books in the second series to become available on audible.

Historia
For generations the misty Shadowline has marked the boundary between the lands of men and the lost northern lands that are the lair of their inhuman enemies, the ageless Qar. But now that boundary line is moving outward, threatening to engulf the northernmost land in which humans still live - the kingdom of Southmarch.

Not for me, but maybe for you
Revisado: 11-02-11
Their was to much of a political element for me. If your into A Song of Ice and Fire series this maybe a good series to read on the side. The story started to open up and be more of what you expect from an epic fantasy novel, but for me it was a little to late to save the story. With this said the end of the book showed some promise that this could be a good series yet and I will be giving the second book a try.
The narration was okay.

Great continuation, this book does not disappoint
Revisado: 11-02-11
This universe is setup great. The elemental magic system is not very original, but there take on it is different from most books. The real stand out element of their magic system is the concept of rune endowments, which can leave characters vulnerable throughout the story; allowing for a dynamic change in a characters role in the story.
The main character or at least the character that the story centers around is well developed and is portrayed as a protagonist that relays on intelligence and cunning. In general the whole cast of characters are well developed. The only weakness in cast characters is the human antagonist who is your typical take from everyone, world domination bad guy that is a bit overplayed. However, it is a minor weakness and does not keep you from enjoying the story. The real antagonist the evil higher power is less played out and enriches the story making up for the not so original antagonist in the first and (part of) the second book in the series. The introduction of the reavers threat in the second book continues to develop and they no longer seem to be an insect like machine, but rather a cunning enemy with a driving force to destroy mankind.
The narration is better done than most audio books.
Overall, this is a continuation to the story and balances sword, sorcery and the overall story. This fast paced fantasy thriller is a must read for any fan of the genre. This series is a true epic fantasy classic. There is a minor political aspect to the book, but if you more interested in political balance than warfare it may not be for you. The book is set over a matter of days and alot happens for just a few days. However, everything around the characters is supposed to move at a slower pace the characters because of "metabolism endowments"( a day can seem like a week or weeks) ; it causes you to be okay with the fast pace of the story.

The weather magic that holds Lur safe is failing, and the earth feels broken to those with the power to see. Among Lur's sorcerers, only Asher has the skill to mend the antique weather map that governs the seasons, keeping the land from being crushed by natural forces. Yet, when Asher risks his life to meddle with these dangerous magics, the crisis is merely delayed, not averted.

Great read
Revisado: 11-02-11
This is a great expansion on the kingmaker, kingbreaker universe. This story takes a much different path than the first two books. However, if you like the first two books you will not be disappointed. Magic use is more prevalent in this book, but there is still a heavy "political" focus. This story focuses on Asher trying to keep Lur together in wake of the olken gaining new rights as well as some other problems. While I much preferred the narration of the first two books the narrator eventually grew on me. However, with that said I think the performance would have been much improved if the narrator of the first two books.
