It was good like every other Patrick O’Brian book. I feel sad to learn that he passed away in 200 but what a legacy to leave behind.

A Totantly new scale

The world building continues on a new scale across the dungeon. Almost the entire story follows the three main groups in this conflict. My favorite was the introduction of Gray the Folk mage which may turn into a new direction for the plot in the next book. Great job to the author and narrator as always.

A sci-fi call of the wild story

The setting of this book reminds me of the Jack London sci-fi story. Highly recommend anyone who is a fan, London. It was a little slow to start, but I really enjoyed the ending. The narrator did a great job blessing different characters.

A world for tier 11-14 is a neat concept

We learn a lot about Dark one society

Each book in this series is a joy to read. Each book builds up the world Max lives in. We see his roll change a lot in a short period of time. Great transition and story.

I liked the world building at this late stage

Just when I thought the author was done with building the world in his story he reshapes the whole setting of the world and system. I enjoyed visiting new and old places to finish some plot lines. Highly recommend for longtime fans of this series.

A great ending to my favorite satire fantasy series

I agree with the authors note that any series that stretches on too long may lose what makes it great. I was very happy with the twist and turns of the main potline. Favorite characters make their final appearances. Old characters makes surprise appearances. And I couldn’t help but laugh when The main character made it to level 99.

Great plot and world building

I’m now a fan of this author after reading this book. The pace of advancement is pronounced but takes a second seat next to the plot in the second half of the book.

Almost as good as the first

The second book of any series is hard to evolve. I liked the pace of growth and the way some characters were set down a path of self reliance and struggle. It means the series is eventually going to building up steam, just not in this book. I’m going to stick with it and see what happens.

A good story to build on
