Lindsey Ellis has been deconstructing my favorite stories since I was a child. I preordered this book the moment she announced it and I am not disappointed. Her understanding of narrative fiction is otherworldly and I cannot wait for whatever else she has in store.

New to Neil

I first read American Gods in high school, lent to me by a friend who had borrowed it from his his college friends who had borrowed it from her girlfriend. This was my shocking introduction to Neil Gaiman, and I couldn't possibly get enough of it. I believe I'd just finished the book months before the tenth anniversary addition was released, but I hadn't worried about that at all until recently. Going through an old favorite in such a new way, with the full cast and so on, was so much more than I expected, and if I have any complaints, it's that it ever ends.
