The story was a little tortured. I got the feeling the author was concerned she wouldn’t have enough material to get through 5 whole books and did her best to stretch out a story that was only just interesting enough to keep me listening in spite of the truly torturesome pauses the female narrator put between the majority of sentences she spoke. These pauses were so long in many instances I thought it was the end of the chapter and was shocked when she continued speaking. After the first one I listened to all of her chapters at 1.25 speed just to make it tolerable. I’m not sure if Ms. Goethals narrates the next book, but if she does I’m not sure I’ll keep listening to this series.

Just keeps getting better

Rosalyn Landor is a phenomenal narrator. I’m captivated by her ease capturing the different characters’ voices. The story itself was fun to hear and fits effortlessly with the Brothers Sinister series. I’m excited for the next book!
