Historia
The long-simmering crisis that grips our culture has exploded in recent years, leaving us divided and intransigent. Discourse seems futile when we are no longer a people with shared principles or even a shared understanding of reality. What seems obvious to one person is patently absurd to the next. This collapse of meaning is not accidental. It has been plotted and documented for decades, and now presents in its current form as Woke ideology. Awake, Not Woke unmasks this ideology by examining its history, major players, premises, and tactics.

Excellent wrapper around the Woke movement.

This book explains well the historic and philosophical basis of the contemporary, radical and tyrannical progressive moment… which is well dubbed “Woke”. Essentially the deliberate attempt to destroy Judie-Christian philosophy and family structure, along with American Constitutional structuring of governance and society.
These are really dangerous and sour times, and I like how the author counters the gloomy trends with statements of faith and affirmation of the teachings and hope that are inherent to Catholic Christianity. Bravo.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize finalist Arthur Herman pens this fascinating look at how two businessmen turned the U.S. into a military powerhouse during World War II. In 1940, FDR asked General Motors CEO William Knudsen to oversee the production of guns, tanks, and planes needed for the war. Meanwhile, industrialist Henry J. Kaiser presided over the building of “Liberty ships” - vessels that came to symbolize America’s great wartime output.

Extremely little known aspect of WW-II
Revisado: 02-09-19
As a WW-II enthusiast I've heard endlessly about America's industrial prowess and the great impact that had on the outcome of the war.
However, just how that came to be - and the staggering actual details of that industrial production - was a great revelation and a truly fascinating story. This might be as important a story on WW-II history as I've ever read. And as an American, it certainly makes me proud to think how our business economy, with a light touch and strategy input by the Federal gov't, was able to generate this miracle.

Historia
Just after midnight on July 30, 1945, the USS Indianapolis is sailing alone in the Philippine Sea when she is sunk by two Japanese torpedoes. For the next five nights and four days, almost 300 miles from the nearest land, nearly 900 men battle injuries, sharks, dehydration, insanity, and eventually each other. Only 316 will survive. Lynn Vincent and Sara Vladic tell the complete story of the ship, her crew, and their final mission to save one of their own.

Terrific
Revisado: 02-09-19
I was hesitant to get this book, thinking I knew the general premise - and already loads about WW-II - but this story is so rich and well told. Weaves the past with much more recent developments in addressing of the court-martial. So the listener gets the story of the Indy in WW-II, the court-martial after the war, and then the more recent efforts to redress that outcome.
Wonderful book
