Historia
Fatherland is set in an alternative world where Hitler has won the Second World War. It is April 1964 and one week before Hitler’s 75th birthday. Xavier March, a detective of the Kriminalpolizei, is called out to investigate the discovery of a dead body in a lake near Berlin’s most prestigious suburb. As March discovers the identity of the body, he uncovers signs of a conspiracy that could go to the very top of the German Reich.

Why not do it with a German narrator?
Revisado: 08-22-15
it has a very satisfying description of the settings and has a seamless and plausible recollection of the past that becomes the alternate history. this was my search term and the first time that I have listened to anything by this writer. I saw this book in my local bookstore and decided to listen to the audiobook.

In Drink: The Intimate Relationship Between Women and Alcohol, award-winning journalist Anne Dowsett Johnston combines in-depth research with her own personal story of recovery, and delivers a groundbreaking examination of a shocking yet little recognized epidemic threatening society today: the precipitous rise in risky drinking among women and girls. With the feminist revolution, women have closed the gender gap in their professional and educational lives. They have also achieved equality with men in more troubling areas as well.

Not a counterpoint to Malcolm Gladwell as cover suggests
Revisado: 07-13-15
I will keep the printed copy because there are additional parts at the back to refer to. keep in mind that This about how women are reflected and also more is said about upper class wine drinkers who are middle aged. the most inspiring story is a younger alcoholic who managed to stay sober and Ernie's the respect of the older women. the thoughts on what is it like to be sober are what I learned the most from. I only rated 3 stars because it's only the second book about this subject I have read.

Historia
Cats have been popular household pets for thousands of years, and their numbers only continue to rise. Today there are three cats for every dog on the planet, and yet cats remain more mysterious, even to their most adoring owners. In Cat Sense, renowned anthrozoologist John Bradshaw takes us further into the mind of the domestic cat than ever before, using cutting-edge scientific research to explain the true nature - and needs - of our feline friends. Tracing the cat’s evolution from solitary hunter to domesticated companion, Bradshaw shows that cats remain independent, predatory, and wary of social contact.

Historia
Despite more power and choices than ever before, women are still angry - that's not necessarily a bad thing, as anger is what continues to open the door for change. In this collection, 15 women speak boldly and passionately about choices they've made - about sex, children, love, and work - and explore what's working and what is not. Their essays - always provocative, honest, witty, and wise - are the culmination of the lessons of the past two decades, the "me" years and the therapy years, the years that have taught women to express themselves and acknowledge their needs.

It didn't solve anything but I'm more sympathetic
Revisado: 02-17-15
I wanted to consume this hoping to learn how to win an argument; to assemble a "BITCH Blaster" as if it where something I could build and test at home from a Popular Mechanics magazine article. feminism is only briefly mentioned throughout but then in the end as something that was misunderstood. If you want empathy listen to the whole thing but if you want a conclusion that is there the review chapter 15. I was listening at one and a half speed because it suits the expression of the narrators angst but be validated by how irrational angry people seems

I waited a long time
Revisado: 05-11-08
I don't mind admitting that there were parts that were slow/boring. There are parts that might never work as a movie. Is this the Lord of the rings of hard science fiction? Part of the apeal of this series is having a strong feeling of how much time has passed, making a possible future have a sense of history. It was an intellectual challenge but not a literary one. It was an exellent audiobook and I'm learning more than I ever did by reading with my eyes. thats why I'm here
