Historia
Seven years ago, readers and listeners around the country fell in love with a singular American voice: Rinker Buck, whose infectious curiosity about history launched him across the West in a covered wagon pulled by mules and propelled his book about the trip, The Oregon Trail, to ten weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. Now, Buck returns to chronicle his latest incredible adventure: building a wooden flatboat from the bygone era of the early 1800s and journeying down the Mississippi River to New Orleans.

Way more than just boating the Mississippi
Revisado: 06-12-24
The boat and river parts were good, but the author overstepped (for myself, anyway) his subject area and used the book to preach his ultra liberal ideology. The historical facts may be legitimate, but I did not choose to listen to a book about riverboats and sailing the Mississippi to be lectured on the evils of the past. I did not finish, Quit and deleted about one hour left.

Historia
From the deserts of North Africa to the mountains of Italy, 15men and women veterans of the Italian campaign open up about a war that was so brutal, news of it was downplayed at home. Here are the stories from a vanishing generation speaking to America today. The war in the Mediterranean, and particularly the Italian Campaign, is one that for many Americans is shrouded in mystery and murkiness. Yet it was here that the United States launched its first offensive in the west on enemy soil.
