gets repetitive
Revisado: 01-29-21
this is spoiler free
1 narration
the narration was pretty good they all did good jobs i recognized one from another book who just can't do male voices but overall they did a really good job.
2 the book
(a huge plus was this book is lgbt friendly)
so the book is written by several authors and most of then did a great job and some surprising people did them.
some podcast fans will know Griffin Mcelroy and others will know wil wheaton (who wrote great storys) just as a couple examples
but there were a few that were just dumb or pointless like one was a few minute story about 2 women who planed to steal the falcon but did not. and way to many focused around the same event that it just got repetitive there were like 16 cantina stories and some of them conflicted with each other.
3 the editing
the biggest failing of this book was whoever ordered and put the stories together. there were several stories that caused conflicting (which is fine since people suck at remembering) timeline order issues, stories that were to similar back to back, and continuity issues. a quick example was a story of a emperial officer who falls for a stormtrooper saying "he's beautiful" they should all look the same! a little tweeking to make it about his personality would of made a lot more since and made a better story.
the issues the editor could of fixed in 3 are the biggest problem i had with the book and caused me to get burnt out a little but over all it was fun. i just had to part it out a little and not listen to it all at once to enjoy it.

Not as good as the first but still a great book
Revisado: 01-19-21
so i read the reviews before buying this book. i should know better then to listen to nerd on the internet but hey no ones perfect.
the book
the book is good it has a lot of the same charm as the first and covers newer games and celebs then the first. it also has a great sci fi, black mirror style story. the only reasons id say not as good as the first is because of a few continuity issues from the first and even within itself.
I cant go into details without spoiling but they are easy to forgive.
but the characters we know and love are back with some newer ones who i do wish had a bigger role.
the narrator
i mean its Wil morther Fu**ing Wheaton he is a great guy, has a great voice, and dose a amazing job. not saying that because i have a total nerd crush but because he is just great and really puts his heart into his readings.
overall
if you enjoy ready player one, or armada you will enjoy this book

funny but in a more dumb funny way
Revisado: 01-04-21
the narration
the narrator did a good job at first I thought he sounded to up tight for the tone but actually it fit really well with the overall story and characters and he seemed to have fun and it felt like I was experiencing it with the characters.
the book
so this was interesting. while the world itself was nothing fancy or super gripping the characters were done well and were fun. the humor was more crude with fart jokes, blue jokes, sex jokes, bad pins, and things of that nature which are not always my style if you like dumb humor it's worth a listen. I loved the characters however and i cheered for the underdogs as the story went on and felt their emotions.

the book
so the book is a collection of story's but other then superheroes I'm not sure the theme. and while some of the stories had interesting views and thoughts on a world of superheroes some just seemed disjointed or to not have really a connection other then superheroes being a thing a few you could swap the word superhero with anything else and it wouldn't make much a difference. Some also did nothing to build a world or a connection to anything other then the story. there were 3 or 4 in this book I found really interesting so not all bad but most I hardly recall and I listened to it the last 2 days.
the narration
the narration varied along with the stories some the narrators did great some terrible hard to tell who was who but more often then not the narrator did a good job but the story wasnt as interesting

a comic book in book form
Revisado: 01-04-21
the narration
the narrator dose a good job. while he dosen't sound like a person who would play Peter parker he dose a great job and brings the characters to life.
the book
unfortunately it dose not feel like a book it feels more like a comic the story is simple wraps up to cleanly, situations are to easily gotten out of. it's like a longer more in depth story is set up but never fully explored like a 2 episode arch of a tv show that needs 3 episodes but is forced to conclude in the second. while the story still fun I'd rather listen to something else.
I'd recommend this for a good price mybe 10 or less but for any more feels to short.

a great book
Revisado: 01-04-21
the book
while overall of the dresden books this is only my second favorite it still a great read and a lot of fun and exactly what should be expected from a dresden book. the story is fun, engaging, keeps you guessing and on your toes and even in suspense.
the narration
james is Dresden and dose an amazing job in this book and it not only feels like he is the main character but he brings all the characters to life. if I had anything bad to say it be that in these early books you can hear his lips smack or his mouth noises which some people hate but you do get use to it and at times makes it feel more immersive like your being told a story by someone.

interested to see where it goes
Revisado: 01-04-21
the book
I found the world building very interesting and the characters varied. it had some interesting, different, and even familiar takes on the world it is based in. while I really enjoyed the book something about it makes me not in love with it but I wouldn't kick it off my book shelf either. I'm really excited to see where the story goes and how it develops. There were some interesting twists to the story that I didn't see coming and really surprised me that is pretty rare.
the narration
I had a few issues with the narration.
1. she didn't seem into it her inflections and tones didn't always match up with what was going on in the book she didn't always sound excited when the characters did or sad when they did it was like she was reading.
2. all the male character's sounded the same. all male heros had the same voice, (which is fine really) all of the story males sounded the same (was a little confusing) I'would of rather she just didnt do a voice.
3. this may be the production honestly but I could hear voice changes where it had either been cut together of there was a break sometimes from one book to the next of the same narrator it sounds little different and you have to get back into the groove of the voice. with this book there were times from sentence to sentence I thought maybe someone else was speaking for a moment because the tone changed abruptly.
while overall I liked her voice and think she did a good job these production or editing or idk what issues made it a little harder for me to get into the book and it just seemed that less money was put into the production then could have been. I don't blame the narrator for these issues and think it could have been better if production was improved

A Normal Life in an Abnormal World
- De Arthur D. Rich en 08-26-17
definitely recommend
Revisado: 01-04-21
the book
the book was surprisingly really great! the story was unique, weird, funny, touching, sad, and actually had me rooting for the characters in it. while the characters are not super deep I think it works better that way, and do not get me wrong some characters grow and change as they should. it's hard to talk about this book without spoiling it but anyone who is a fan of comical take on superhero worlds will enjoy this book
the narrator
I also really enjoyed the narration, usually I'm picky about narrators but this one did a great job. the only issue I had with narration is a lot of the characters came across sounding Jewish more so then I think they were meant to (not a bad thing, just some of the characters are specificly Jewish so can be confusing) and while a lot of the book takes place in New York don't think I picked out any form of New York accent. but otherwise I really loved the narrative.
