I think his tribute to so many of the Spy, Adventure, Mystery Novelists was moving. But I think he stands on his own, bringing today’s realities to our attention. I can’t wait for the next chapter in Reese’s story. Hurry!!

Historia
Bill Bryson once again proves himself to be an incomparable companion as he guides us through the human body - how it functions, its remarkable ability to heal itself, and (unfortunately) the ways it can fail. Full of extraordinary facts (your body made a million red blood cells since you started reading this) and irresistible Bryson-esque anecdotes, The Body will lead you to a deeper understanding of the miracle that is life in general and you in particular. As Bill Bryson writes, "We pass our existence within this wobble of flesh and yet take it almost entirely for granted."

I really think his discussion of all medical care was right on target. But the real history of all subjects was very interesting.

Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

Historia
The origins of COVID-19 are shrouded in mystery. Scientists and government officials insisted, for a year and a half, that the virus had a natural origin, ridiculing anyone who dared contradict this view. Tech giants swept the internet, censoring and silencing debate in the most extreme fashion. Yet it is undeniable that a secretive facility in Wuhan was immersed in genetically manipulating bat-coronaviruses in perilous experiments. And as soon as the news of an outbreak in Wuhan leaked, the Chinese military took control and gagged all laboratory insiders.

I usually don’t write reviews but this book was so much more than I could have ever expected. Clear and concise and compelling. I would like to see more of your work on anything. I truly don’t trust main stream media for all the reasons in this book. Again thank you for your time and dedication to your craft.

Historia
An extraordinary chronicle of Venice, its people, and its grandeur Thomas Madden’s majestic, sprawling history of Venice is the first full portrait of the city in English in almost thirty years. Using long-buried archival material and a wealth of newly translated documents, Madden weaves a spellbinding story of a place and its people, tracing an arc from the city’s humble origins as a lagoon refuge to its apex as a vast maritime empire and Renaissance epicenter to its rebirth as a modern tourist hub.

Deep dive in the history
Revisado: 12-24-22
My ignorance of ancient history made the first part hard but I learned a little. The last portion was very interesting. I loved Venice in 1980 when I visited it. I was put off by the thought of Cruise Ships but we all have to survive. I doubt I will ever be able to go back but this book was enlightening to all of Venices issues.

His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. What can I say, he took me on another journey.
Revisado: 10-27-22
This was as with all of King’s work a study of characters, in a journey of growth. For those of us lucky enough to have had family that read us Fairy Tails as we were growing up, this book was stroll down memory lane. 40 sum years ago I read “Salem’s Lot”, and I was entranced. His work started me reading and now I can’t stop. What did I like about this book? Everything. If you like King you will love this, if you don’t well I am sorry for you.

I wish more people would listen to this book especially now. I can’t tell you how many utterly STUPID things people said to me about Coronavirus over the past 2 years. One lady told me it was not a virus but a parasite.
Thank you for restoring my confidence in my Microbiology prof. I thought this book was so engaging and informative I would recommend it to anyone who can focus for more than 10 seconds. Again thank you.
