A Good Book Spoiled by the Narrator
Revisado: 01-05-25
This book combines many of my interests: cozy mystery, mysticism, and tarot cards. I love this series but I think that I will read the next one, and I hope there will be many more, on my Kindle, not Audible.

Historia
An unpleasant man in every respect, university Professor Herbert Ungley is exceedingly vain. One morning, his landlady catches her cat coming in with Ungley's hairpiece between its teeth. It's clear something has happened to the old grouch, because he would never be caught without his toupee. Ungley is found in the yard behind his social club, with his head bashed in and his baldness plain for the world to see. Although the police are content to call it an accident, sleuthing horticulturalist Peter Shandy is unconvinced and finds there are too many unanswered questions.

Historia
In honor of Agatha Christie's 100th birthday, mystery bookstore owner Annie Laurance Darling plans a week-long celebration of mystery, treasure hunts, and Christie trivia. But the last thing she or her guests expect is that the scheduled fun and mayhem will include a real-life murder. The unexpected arrival of Neil Bledsoe, the most despised book critic in America, was sure to raise a few hackles. An advocate of hard-boiled detection and gory true crime, Bledsoe drops a bombshell on the devoted Christie assemblage....

Good But Not Great
Revisado: 07-09-20
I loved the first two books in this series but felt this one was too slow while they were on the island. I wanted more of Rasputin and more explanation of the creatures dwelling in the forest. I look forward to the next one in the series and can already tell I will like the main characters better from the glimpse I got of them here.

She has a job she likes as an administrative assistant at an all-girls school and a volunteer interest that she's passionate about - Jazz is a cadaver dog handler. Jazz is working with Luther, a cadaver dog in training. Luther is still learning cadaver work, so Jazz is putting him through his paces at an abandoned building. When Luther signals a find, Jazz is stunned to see the body of a young woman.

Excellent
Revisado: 05-10-20
A great beginning to what I hope will be a long and wonderful series. Much more in depth characterization than the usual cozies. I loved the main character and found the Cleveland scene an interesting change of scene. Made me want to go there, ha! Having been in one I found the Catholic girl's school activity true to life and convincing. Loved it and I can hardly wait to read the next one in the series. Well done Kylie Logan! Well done Emily Pike Stewart!

Historia
Egypt, 1926. Fiercely independent American Jane Wunderly has made up her mind: she won't be swept off her feet on a trip abroad. Despite her Aunt Millie's best efforts at meddling with her love life, the young widow would rather gaze at the Great Pyramids of Giza than into the eyes of a dashing stranger. Yet Jane's plans to remain cool and indifferent become ancient history in the company of Mr. Redvers, a roguish banker she can't quite figure out.

The streets of San Francisco would be lined with hardcovers if rare book expert Brooklyn Wainwright had her way. And her mentor wouldn't be lying in a pool of his own blood on the eve of a celebration for his latest book restoration. With his final breath he leaves Brooklyn a cryptic message, and gives her a priceless - and supposedly cursed - copy of Goethe's Faust for safekeeping.

Historia
Former English professor Cat Latimer is back in Colorado, hosting writers' retreats in the big blue Victorian she's inherited, much to her surprise, from none other than her carousing ex-husband. Now it's an authors' getaway, but Cat won't let anyone get away with murder. The bed-and-breakfast is open for business, and best-selling author Tom Cook is among its first guests. Cat doesn't know why he came all the way from New York, but she's glad to have him among the quirkier - and far less famous - attendees.

This book was more Thriller than it was a cozy mystery, my usual genre. I enjoyed all the information about coffee and this visit to New York City.
