Historia
Christopher Chant has no real power. He can't perform spells or do anything magical. However, he does possess something that most humans do not. Christopher has nine lives. Gerard Doyle's spellbinding narration is sure to capture every listener's attention.

A long time favorite.
Revisado: 11-30-16
I'm a big Diana Wynne Jones fan and I am pleased to say that the Chrestomanci series is just as enjoyable in audio as it is in print, perhaps even more so. Gerard Doyle does a fantastic job with the narration, the norm for all his performances in my opinion.

Historia
Twelve years ago, Edwin Tully came to Oxford and fell in love with a boy named Marius. He was brilliant. An artist. It was going to be forever. Two years ago, it ended. Now Edwin lives alone in the house they used to share. He tends to damaged books and faded memories, trying to build a future from the fragments of the past. Then the weather turns, and the river spills into Edwin's quiet world, bringing with it Adam Dacre from the Environment Agency.

A lovely story about believing in one's ability to love again.

Fantastic! Waiting for the Flood is one of my favorite novellas and I am so pleased with what the audiobook brought to the whole experience. Alexander Doddy did a lovely job bringing this wonderful story to life and I know that this will become one of those books I listen to quite a few times.

Historia
On the planet of Discworld, phrases like "there's a Death in the family" take on a whole new meaning. Young Susan has always suspected that her Grandfather was different, as though all the time he spent riding a white horse and wielding a scythe weren't enough of a giveaway. Now that her worst fears have been confirmed, Susan learns that she's expected to take over the family business when she grows up, even though most people mistake her for the Tooth Fairy.

Good, but not my favorite
Revisado: 07-13-15
I love Terry Pratchett's writing, but this story is not my favorite. I also think that some of these older recordings really suffer from showing their, well, age. The recording seemed far away somehow, regardless of volume. The disc world stories are always fun and the puns were amusing; I'm not always as interested in them as I am in the larger story but they stood out here. Possibly because I had a harder time getting into the larger story. Anyway, I love it because it's Terry Pratchett's and it fills out my disc world reading, but it will never be one of my favorite favorites.
