fabulous and entertaining

I love this podcast. I knew a lot about American history but the variety of perspectives is amazing. I could listen them talk about any topic for hours. I'm learning so much and seeing so many different perspectives.

Historia
The body was left in a dumpster like so much trash, the victim a woman of no fixed address, known for offering paper flowers in return for spare change - and for keeping the cops informed of any infractions she witnessed on the street. But the notebook where she scribbled her intel on litterers and other such offenders is nowhere to be found. Then Eve is summoned away to a nearby building site to view more remains - in this case decades old, adorned with gold jewelry and fine clothing - unearthed by recent construction work.

best one yet
Revisado: 01-26-23
This is probably one of the best cases I've read from Nora. Two cases actually, that seem to crisscross but eventually tell 2 very sad stories about people the world seems to have forgotten.
Susan is always great and I could listen to her read the phone book.

Historia
She’s everything I shouldn’t want. I capture her anyway. What humans hail an invasion we call Garrison Earth: A mission to save our species from extinction. But while my warriors will soon have the stomachs of their new mates swell with daughters, I know this planet holds nothing for me. Until a fierce, red-haired female points her gun with her eyes blazing fire, and I know I have found my mate. A bullet and a tranquilizer pad later, I carry her in my arms. Against my better judgment. But who argues fate?

what a brat
Revisado: 01-13-21
look I get that the heroine is facing a lot but she is an absolute bitch.
I had so much hop for her in the beginning because she seemed to face a world gone mad with a pragmatic bravery then she became a completely different character who puts no effort into learning how to survive in this new world but just rebels and bitches about everything. I honestly wished the healer would have hit her.
the world building is good and some of the secondary characters like the healer are great but I struggled to finish it and would not recommend it.

Historia
Brilliant scientist Melinda Caster has discovered a new strain of the Zika virus that stimulates synaptic growth in embryos, causing neuron development beyond normal human levels. Way beyond, like ESP-levels of cognitive abilities. When the lab is broken into, Melinda realizes that someone has been keeping tabs on her research and wants it for themselves. A happy accident destroys critical data before it can fall into the wrong hands, but unfortunately that makes Melinda and her perfect memory a target.

for such a smart woman this heroin was so dumb
Revisado: 06-09-18
I thought about giving up on this book.
small spoiler alert: When a man has come to save you and you hear him talking about how unimportant you are to him, to a demon, maybe there is a reason and you being a scientist should wait for more evidence before you run away and pout.
