Great content, but I struggled with the narration.
Revisado: 08-18-22
Great content. I really enjoyed the author's perspective and writing, but I really struggled with the narration. speeding it up to x1.10 actually helped in that department. I'd probably buy a secondhand physical copy if I came across one, just so I could go back through and take notes. Great read for Christian moms who are looking for the joy in parenting amidst the grumpy moments.

Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

Andy Serkis is incredible! I hope this isn't the only audiobook he does, because I need more! One of the very best audiobook performances I've ever listened to.

I liked what the author is saying, but really struggled with the narration. I didn't finish the book for this reason, but I think I'll pick up a paperback copy instead.

I found so much value in the teaching, anecdotes, and wisdom in this book. The performance is a bit sing-song, but it didn't take long to get into the rhythm of the author's voice. This is a book I want to get in paperback form too so I can revisit, take notes, etc. Overall, the book was helpful, encouraging, and left me both satisfied and wanting more.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

Grocery shopping. Soccer practice. Dirty dishes. Motherhood is tough, and it often feels like the to-do list just gets longer and longer every day - making it hard to experience true joy in God, our children, and the gospel. In this encouraging book for frazzled moms, Gloria Furman helps us reorient our vision of motherhood around what the Bible teaches.

Good Message
Revisado: 09-18-20
This book has a good message that reads a bit like a sermon. I liked the content overall, but it never grabbed my attention and drew me in. It seemed to lack focus but was encouraging and full of scripture. It wasn't bad, just not my "language", I suppose.

Historia
Inspired by the spirit of Henry David Thoreau—"All good things are wild and free"—mother of five Ainsley Arment founded Wild + Free. This growing online community of mothers and families want their children to receive a quality education at home by challenging their intellectual abilities and nurturing their sense of curiosity, joy, and awe—the essence of a positive childhood. The homeschool approach of past generations is gone—including the stigma of socially awkward kids, conservative clothes, and a classroom setting replicated in the home.

Loved the content of this book. While the narration was sort of robotic and lacked emotion, the book was well written and I will probably listen to it again as the school year goes on. Definitely recommend for those considering or new to homeschool.
