Historia
Anna Winger can know people better than they know themselves with only a glance - at their handwriting. Hired out by companies wanting to land trustworthy employees and by the lovelorn hoping to find happiness, Anna likes to keep the real-life messes of other people at arm's length and on paper. But when she is called to use her expertise on a note left behind at a murder scene in the small town she and her son have recently moved to, the crime gets under Anna's skin and rips open her narrow life for all to see.

Deserves all the acclaim it’s received!

I really couldn’t stop listening to this book. I took walks I hadn’t planned to just to keep listening. Rader-Day’s protagonist (and first person narrator) is intelligent, strong and yet vulnerable in all the right ways. The plot is engrossing and tense. You won’t be disappointed.

Historia
Bryan Stevenson was a young lawyer when he founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice dedicated to defending those most desperate and in need: the poor, the wrongly condemned, and women and children trapped in the farthest reaches of our criminal justice system. One of his first cases was that of Walter McMillian, a young man who was sentenced to die for a notorious murder he insisted he didn’t commit. The case drew Bryan into a tangle of conspiracy, political machination, and legal brinksmanship—and transformed his understanding of mercy and justice forever.

A must read...

Particularly in the dark times ahead. The author is a true fighter for people's constitutional rights and we can't let those get rolled back. This book reminds us what life was like for many people before hard-won gains were made.
