Is this recording even author-approved?

The audio for this collection of classic blog posts (still available on Steve Pavlina’s website) is shabbily recorded through what sounds like an old soup can at someone’s kitchen table.
Furthermore, it’s horrendously narrated by a reader who probably did his best but has sporadic trouble with english pronunciation, and an annoying, high-pitched tooth whistle.
Downright painful to listen to.
If that’s not enough, the narrator’s voiced draaaged as if the recording had been artificially slowed down. I had to bump up the speed on the Audible player a few points faster for the narrator to sound somewhat natural.
Finally, the narrator delivered every sentence in the same robotic pattern and cadence across 3+ hours of reading.
Honestly it’s so bad I’m returning it (a rare thing for me).
