Historia
Somewhere between hunting for gold in Latin America as a geologist and getting married to a new husband, 33-year-old Susan Purvis loses her way. Susan comes to believe that a puppy and working on ski patrol at the last great ski town in Colorado will improve her life. When she learns about avalanches that bury people without warning, she challenges herself: "What if I teach a dog to save lives?" This quest propels her to train the best possible search dog, vowing to never leave anyone behind.

Amazing Story of an INCREDIBLE woman and her INCREDIBLE DOG!!
Revisado: 05-24-21
I loved this story, the authors descriptions make you feel like you are there. The wonderful bond between Susan and Tasha are so heartfelt, and many times funny. I learned sooo much about the journey, obstacles and requirements to become a SAR, Avalanche dog. Susan truly educates the reader on what to look for as far as snow that is,”locked and loaded”. I will never allow my sons to go skiing or to the mountains and snow without an avalanche beacon thanks to Susans experiences and educating us. I am a sucker for human/dog bond books, but this book could save your life, and so could her courses. This book is so much more & I am TRULY grateful for it. I wish I couldve met Tasha and gave her a hug. Im soo glad Susan gave her a job, showed her how to truly use her life to help others. I think all dogs want to be valued and have a job they can be proud of. Thank you for the life you gave her and all you did for her Susan!
