Great story - terrible narration

Deon Meyer depiction of the different cultures within the South African rainbow nation is totally lost by the narrater Simon Vance. Words that are totally mispronounced and the fact that Simon just cannot mimic the different accents, does have a negative impact on the book. Nic de Jager is so much better as a narrator.

Uitmuntende verhaal en fantasiese beskrywende taalgebruik. Karakter beskrywing is so goed gedoen dat mens elke persoon in jou geestesoog kan voorstel. Voorlesing is met volle oortuiging gelewer. Geskiedenis is baie akuraat saamgevat. Dankie vir die nostalgie.

Toe sy hoor dat Julian Hoffman, derde geslag erfgenaam van ‘n multibiljoenrand-maatskappy, op soek is na 'n persoonlike assistent, besluit sy om aansoek te doen.

It would have been a really wonderful book, if it was not for the fact that 4 different chapters were repeated e.g. chapter 1 & 2 were the same. So parts of the book got lost in this process. Maybe a better quality control should be put into place for the audible publishers.
