people look at me funny when I read these books.
Revisado: 03-10-17
Where do i even start?
I laughed so f*****g much listening to this book!
Robert Bevan definitely knows how to tickle your funny bone or should I say; taint, with a word feather when it comes to writing about a group of nerdy fools from the real world trying to survive in a D&D like universe.
if you enjoyed the previous books you'll for sure love this one.
while reading this though I couldn't help but wonder if Robert Bevan has experienced some of the foul and humorous things that happen to the characters in this book. There's no way someone could come up with these hilarious situations off the top of their head.
reading these books feels like you're joking around with your best friend. you know, the only type of friendship you could get away with being this freaking weird and disgusting around without feeling embarrassed or weird about it with.
Robert Bevan writes in a style that when reading it, feels like home... in a weird way. I'm not really sure how else to put it.
buy this damn book and you'll see what I mean.
and if you haven't read the previous C&C novels then go do that first!
it'll pull you out of your everyday life and s**t you out head first into the world of Critical Failures and hilarity.
but be advised, do not listen to this and drive because you may crash your car into a school bus from laughing so hard and the cops will look at you funny when you're still laughing by the time they get there.

Historia
From electrifying horror author Nick Cutter comes a haunting new novel, reminiscent of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian and Stephen King's It, in which a trio of mismatched mercenaries is hired by a young woman for a deceptively simple task: check in on her nephew, who may have been taken against his will to a remote New Mexico backwoods settlement called Little Heaven. Shortly after they arrive, things begin to turn ominous.

Cutter cuts deep into the imagination.
Revisado: 03-08-17
He did it again. Nick Cutter managed to write yet another unique take on a grotesque monster book. he seems to have a knack for coming up with new ways of introducing horror.
the book didn't creep me out but it did make me think a lot of what if's.
I enjoy the descriptions he uses and when he describes something I'm easily able to picture or hear that particular thing in my mind.
if I was to compare his story telling to another author I'd probably pick Peter Clines. they both seem to be similar in a sense that they are both very good at coming up with unique and eclectic world's.
the narrator does a good job at giving everyone their own voice and accents, has great timing and does well with his sound effects.
if you enjoy gory, grotesque and descriptive horror and aren't easily empathetic then this book is for you. it does wonders for the imagination.
the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the ending fell somewhat short and felt rushed. it left me with a few questions but also left off in a way that made me think there may be a sequel. If so, then the rushed ending may have an excuse and the book may be worthy of 5 stars after all.

Compared to the other books, this one falls short.
Revisado: 03-04-17
I've been a huge fan of the Hard Luck Hank series since the first book was released. There's never been a dull moment in the series until this one. Robot Farts isn't bad but compared to the previous books it's not great either.
The story didn't seem to flow as well as usual, there are less characters and I didn't find myself laughing as much while listening to Robot Farts.
the story just seemed somewhat rushed, the characters were less likeable and predictable.
it's still a fun read tho and I'm looking forward to the next book for sure.
as for the narrator, he did a great job as usual. the only issue I had with the narration this time was the production company changed some of the voices. Cliston and Gun for instance. in previous recordings they synthesized the voices and it made the book much more enjoyable and immersive. this time around they didn't synthesize the voices at all. I'm not sure why they decided to remove that feature but to me it threw me off and felt distracting when they talked because I was so used to how they sounded before.
hopefully they add the effects back in for the next book.
All in all, I liked the book and if you're a fan of the series I'm sure you will too. Steven Campbell has created an awesome universe for us and I hope these books never come to an end.
thank you, Mr. Campbell for writing these books.

Steven Campbell does it again!
Revisado: 06-28-16
Mr. Campbell never fails to amaze me. Every one of the Hard Luck Hank books are incredibly entertaining. I've listened to every single one at least 3 times already. It's one of those series that's a go to for me when Im in the mood to laugh. Hank is so loveable and I hope the series never ends! Evey book so far is also done by the same narrator. I couldn't imagine anyone else doing them either. He does the character voices so well and they even use voice effects for robots and whatnot.
Thank you Steven for creating such a wonderful universe. "Audible 20 review sweepstakes entry."
