So thanksgiving occurs before Halloween?

A lot of oddities in this one. The book is okay…. However needs a lot of editing. For example, in the beginning of the first book they were fighting over cranberry sauce for thanksgiving then in the second book they’re going to a barbecue for Halloween, which takes place a week after the first book. Things like this just keep happening and not really making sense for me.

a totally enthralling budding romance

DNF, the portrayal of her foster sister is alarming

I really tried to not DNF this book but I truly barely even made it through the first 1/4 of it due to the ridiculous portrayal of those born with body abnormalities. The author literally called this girls legs grotesque while simultaneously talking about how her being in a chair is literally the end of her life and ability to be a human being. This is textbook using a disable character just to further your MCs “likability” but it does not work. The way this character talks about her so called friend… absolutely unacceptable. She spent an entire chapter droning on about how much of a weight and burden her friend is. There are also clear errors either in the performance or writing itself. It’s a prescription not a subscription.

Inconsistencies from Pg 1

I wish the author would have decided if that DNA test would be a spit swab or a blood test before discussing it at length in chapter 1. This is just an example of the inconsistency. But I powered through because I paid money for this. But it just continued. You’re telling me your boss closes a bar for a week and then calls you and says be there in 20 minutes and you… go!?!?? And mind you, the FMC is the boss doing this… The story could be interesting but these weird things that just keep happening makes me feel like this needed another round of editing and a few more sets of eyes.
