This is definitely a tough love episode but, for good reason, I want what's best for you. Inspirational Work In the Shadows
Revisado: 12-09-24
I had no idea what would be delivered on this episode but I actually enjoyed listening to Liz. Straight forward and honest. She touched on a lot I could relate to and agree with, especially on doing Shadow Work.
Personal investment, becoming ideal self vs hopeles feelings or stuck!!
However, with global financial craziness many (women especially). Basic needs will trump cost of a coach, mentor, event.
Care = costs 🤔

Language Fails Us: Confronting the Nature of Art & Artessence

Where language breaks, art begins. Language routinely fails us in conversations about art and creativity. In the following essay, I elaborate on the reason for this problem and offer three terms which can help give more depth and clarity to our discussions of art. The three primary experiential aspects of art: Art-making: verb, a creative act that results in an art-object. Art-object: noun, a material or immaterial byproduct of art-making. Artessence: noun, the state of mind of an art experience. ∞∞∞∞∞ Read the essay in its original written form here: https://mjdorian.com/language/ ...

✨ When words fail us - Return to Art!! ✨
Gentle whispers of Rumi's poetry :'The Alchemist'- images of nature fading in and out, combined with instrumental sounds - gently lulled me to a moment of inner bliss. My experience was beyond words.

Painting - trains the eye
Music - trains the ear.
Culinary Art- trains our tasting and sense of smell.

Good Enough Mother
Revisado: 11-23-24
Very informative and a shell Shocker when I heard some of the insane stories.
I raised boys. First two from my first marriage. It was tough and challenging. When you described 'Momma's boy, doing his laundry - I thought back to their dad's living - he was a momma's boy. In fact, a bit of both my ex's. Haven't spoken to them in quite a while. Just thankful they are grown and doing good for themselves.
Question - why do alpha moms get such a bad rap? Raising my kids I was misjudged - told by others, I ofte "wear the pants in the house".
I had to teach my kids the importance of self autonomy, independence with shared responsibilities.
I'm fairly new to your podcast - tphilosophical discussion on Monster- IN-LAWS? 😁(Love that movie)

Even with endless social scripts around romance, we hardly know what it means to be a good friend. In episode 114 of Overthink, Ellie and David reflect on the highs and lows of friendship, from their own bond to Montaigne’s intimate connection to Étienne de La Boétie. From Aristotle’s Nichomachean Ethics to today’s loneliness epidemic, they question what friends do, how they hold each other accountable, and the deep ways in which our vices and virtues are shaped by our friends. Plus, in the bonus, they talk Ralph Waldo Emerson, intimacy, dyadic relationships, high school friends, and...

Strategic Self Disclosure
Revisado: 11-21-24
This is the first episode I listened to and loved the way Dr. Sarah Bren addressed her genuine struggles as a mother on sensitive topics, her key points are worth noting.
Dr. Dana Crawford:
"in the world of racism, prejudicism - we can't really be safe -- and we can't really be comfortable. Instead, we have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
We have to recognize that we have the capacity to DO hard things. You've done hard things throughout your entire life and so we need to hold to that. "
Golden words of wisdom, Thank you both for gifting me with proper knowledge and renewed parental hope!! ⭐❤️💯🌅

Rythmic Relationship with Life
Revisado: 11-18-24
l was thrilled to discover Stuart Mackey has his own podcast. This episode is my first choice. Not sure what would be but this dynamic duo delivered a heart to heart, beautiful and inspiring conversation that unfolded like an exotic flower. A call to embrace our personal human story and sovereignity.
On a personal level I could relate well with Tara, her struggles and upbringing. I was raised by my maternal grandfather and step-grandmother who struggled with emotional dysregulation. These caretakers adopted me well beyond parenting years.
My birth carried a Taboo - self ego identity was difficult to develop due to generation gap and family's expectations.
As an only child I struggled with communication. It's not that I couldn't speak but that for me - Trust - needed to be earned and that sense of genuine care / connection.
2014 - I ventured on the path of unconditional self love and radical self compassion. The reward I found, was and is my soul. My greatest love of life through the pains and joys.
Soul Leveling up :
This year I came across Stuart Mackey's through Social media site. Soul flows and moves me with Synchronicity. My life is blessed by how much light this nobleman is able to share to his viewers like me.
"Beautiful Fruit from a beautiful tree "
Thank you Stuart and Tara from the bottom of my heart, for helping me to feel like a part of your team family! 🙏✨ 🍑🌳
