Historia
In this intimate and open account—nothing like any rock-and-roll memoir you’ve ever read—Alex Van Halen shares his personal story of family, friendship, music and brotherly love in a remarkable tribute to his beloved brother and band mate. In his rough yet sweet voice, Alex recounts the brothers’ childhood, first in the Netherlands and then in working class Pasadena, California, with an itinerant musician father and a very proper Indonesian-born mother.

Historia
When 11-year-old James Renner fell in love with Amy Mihaljevic, the missing girl seen on posters all over his neighborhood, it was the beginning of a lifelong obsession with true crime. That obsession led James to a successful career as an investigative journalist. It also gave him PTSD. In 2011 James began researching the strange disappearance of Maura Murray, a UMass student who went missing after wrecking her car in rural New Hampshire in 2004.

Expected a lot more

Terrible!
Came to this novel via Stephen King quoting it, specifically on Salem's Lot, he's also sang its praises.
Maybe the narrator could have been better, but the story was so slow I could not finish the last 1.5hrs of the book, perhaps
another day. The story seems incredibly dated and frankly boring! Wish I had not purchased it.

Historia
In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they've lost one another. The boy's cries are more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale, as only Stephen King and Joe Hill can deliver.

Wish I'd read the reviews priot to Purchase
Revisado: 03-16-23
I needed a SK fix and this was a cheap buy, but regardless I wish I'd heeded what other echoed in the reviews, it Was a waste of money & time.
The story is ok, not really special but the biggest detraction was Mr. Lang's narration, nothing against him but I'll steer clear away from him on future audible titles.
You know the drill, the narrator can make or break a story, good or bad (to an extent), unfortunately in this context his narrating skills don't cut it.

Revisado: 08-11-21
Have a great deal of Respect for this Woman, hers is a fascinating story and not just from a music standpoint, just in general. I would dearly love to hear her write or narrate anything on any given topic. So glad she narrated this one.... Hopefully she'll consider another book in the future. ;o)

Killer Triggers

Historia
The most common triggers for homicide are fear, rage, revenge, money, lust, and, more rarely, sheer madness. This isn’t an exact science, of course. Any given murder can have multiple triggers. Sex and revenge seem to be common partners in crime. This book offers my memories of homicide cases that I investigated or oversaw. In each case, I examine the trigger that led to death. I chose this theme for the book because even though the why of a murder case may not be critical in an investigation, it can sometimes lead us to the killer.

Thad Beaumont would like to say he is innocent. He'd like to say he has nothing to do with the twisted imagination that produced his best-selling novels. He'd like to say he has nothing to do with the series of monstrous murders that keep coming closer to his home. But how can Thad deny the ultimate embodiment of evil that goes by the name he gave it - and signs its crimes with Thad's bloody fingerprints?

good book... Narrator Not!
Revisado: 03-23-21
The story is perfectly fine for SK but the Grover Gardner's voice gets really irritating after a while, especially when he's overdoing it in the narration which he does more than its tolerable. It grates on you. A good narrator can enhance a mediocre book, a terrible narrator can ruin a great novel. Will be sure to avoid Grover G in the future. Frank Muller's not too far behind this guy.

The result of this Roger Daltrey's introspection is a remarkable memoir, instantly captivating, funny and frank, chock-full of well-earned wisdom and one-of-kind anecdotes from a raucous life that spans a tumultuous time of change in Britain and America. Born during the air bombing of London in 1944, Daltrey fought his way (literally) through school and poverty and began to assemble the band that would become The Who while working at a sheet metal factory in 1961.

Thank you Roger, what a great story your life has been. Thank you for sharing it with us. I have a whole new sense of admiration for Roger, I didn't know how difficult it was being in such a setting with the other bandmembers. And I love that even though he is a Rock Star he is just a regular bloke underneath it all. ;o)

Seems like an ok story but he used too many Spanish phrases which just became annoying, nothing against the language but after hearing them too many times kinda put me off.
