Slow start. Good character development.
Revisado: 02-04-24
The beginning was really slow but the last chapters were packed with action. Overall it was a good story with a nice resolution and growth of characters. I think the mystery could've been amped by a lot and maybe that's what I was missing.

Family Drama Fun
Revisado: 01-23-24
This book was fun. It had very relatable family drama about expectations and fear of vulnerability but it was lightened up by great ex-husband / fake boyfriend fun. It was very entertaining.

Historia
Masterfully blending elements of psychological suspense and true crime, Jessica Knoll—bestselling author of Luckiest Girl Alive and the writer behind the Netflix adaptation starring Mila Kunis—delivers an “unflinching and evocative” (Laura Dave, New York Times bestselling author) thriller in Bright Young Women. The book opens on a Saturday night in 1978, hours before a soon-to-be-infamous murderer descends upon a Florida sorority house with deadly results. The lives of those who survive, including a sorority president and key witness, Pamela Schumacher, are forever changed.

Powerful, moving and terrifying
Revisado: 01-18-24
The story gave me the creeps, which I believe is a normal reaction to the horrible acts depicted, and the insane people who defended them. But, it also gave me hope; hope in women and our power and courage to stand up for what is right. I LOVED how the story was told and that the focus were the women whose lives were unjustly cut short.

Best "you can do it woman" book out there
Revisado: 11-03-23
I feel like I've read so many "you can do it" books that most of them all start to mesh and give similar advice. However, this book was GREAT. It not only had the motivation, manifestation, be brave, trust yourself tips but it also spoke about the huge importance of owning our finances and growing our networks. The author gave examples of how she's worked her ass off and not only manifested it and how she's put herself out there, embarrassed herself, failed and ultimately learned, grown and succeeded. Definitely worth a read.

What An Adventure!
Revisado: 10-31-23
The story was entertaining and heartfelt and also unbelievably relatable. It did not make me want to move to the Alaskan fronteir but it surely made me love the people from there and respect their survival skills and way of life. I loved his relationship with his wife and the medical stories he told but mostly, I loved how he forged his way and grew strong friendships along the way. Also... it made me so grateful for warm weather.

I love Ru, but I expected more
Revisado: 09-11-23
I love everything RuPaul creates, and this is no different. It was motivational and witty and had all my favorite Ru catchphrases. I did, however, expect more, I don't know what of, maybe more depth or details or just more pages. I felt it was brief, but it definitely packs some wisdom.

We'd totally be friends.
Revisado: 04-12-23
I thought this book was fun to listen to. Anna is funny and charismatic and, of course, the book and get performance reflect that. The stories were entertaining but in my brain they sort of lacked order or a reason for being in the book... Maybe just entertaining and I'm thinking too much into it. It made me laugh and relate. I thought it was a good inside look into a very down-to-earth non-glitzy famous person. I think we would be friends lol.

Hilarious, relatable, and sooo motivating.
Revisado: 11-28-22
I love Kevin Hart and I found this book extremely relatable, knowledgeable, inspiring, motivating and straight up funny. I related and found every single one of the monsters in myself and I think his tips, stories and points on life are fantastic. This will forever be one of those books that I can re-read, or listen to again and again. Kevin's narration is also HILARIOUS. He yells and made me laugh out loud while listening, which makes the monster hunt fun and not as depressing as other self-awareness books.

LOVED THIS BOOK
Revisado: 11-27-22
I already loved Trevor Noah... I mean, who doesn't? But this book was not only as entertaining and snart as his humor but it was raw, and emotional, and so very real. It tugged at my heart strings, brought me to laughter, and was just overall inspiring. It was mind-blowing and educational, and I truly felt honored to read it.
