A Fun View of Dragons
Revisado: 05-29-24
This was a good and simple story, one that anyone who loves dragons needs to add to their list. It is a wonderful unique blend of dragon lore from all over to create a special flavor of sentient and intelligent and yet also a wild animal. It makes for a unique perspective to the situations he finds himself and the choices he makes throughout. This wasn't a blow you out of the water story or world or characters, but it is beautiful in it's subtleties.

It doesn't matter that the girls often die from the mental strain. When 18-year-old Zetian offers herself up as a concubine-pilot, it's to assassinate the ace male pilot responsible for her sister's death. But she gets her vengeance in a way nobody expected—she kills him through the psychic link between pilots and emerges from the cockpit unscathed.

Historia
With The Alloy of Law, Brandon Sanderson surprised listeners with a New York Times best-selling spinoff of his Mistborn audiobooks, set after the action of the trilogy, in a period corresponding to late 19th-century America. The trilogy's heroes are now figures of myth and legend, even objects of religious veneration. They are succeeded by wonderful new characters, chief among them Waxillium Ladrian, known as Wax, hereditary lord of House Ladrian.

A New Story
Revisado: 07-07-23
It took a while for me to read this series as I loved Era 1 so much, but as my heart healed this was a good successor.
New friends and incredibly enjoyable characters while bringing interest and connection to the first one in new and interesting ways. It was nice to hear a new style of story using the same magic that we have come to know. I will be very excited to continue this series.

Historia
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Layers of Secrets
Revisado: 04-05-23
I have read few books that manage to pull twists that I dont see coming as often as Brandons, that still make sense at least. And he certainly did it on this one. He masterfully gives you the breadcrumbs you need to see the ending, keeping you hungry for more while still giving you the flavor to keep you wanting more.
He gives his secrets what seems too willingly, only to find out that secret reveals a much bigger conundrum.
The writing level is easy to read without being condescending and keeps the flow going. Its also not to complex to feel pretentious. I truely enjoyed this book and its characters. While I came here from Stormlight and play obvious favorites, it would have been a tragedy to miss this book.
It stands on its own against his magnum opus, and has its own story to tell.
While I wish there were more female characters in this book outside of Vin, I am interested to know Sanderson has agreed with that and aimed to change it in the future. He writes complex and well written women that is a rarity. I only mention this since this is something important to me, and I judge books harshly based on this fact.
I cant wait to read more. Following these breadcrumbs has made me hungry!

Different Style, Different Charm
Revisado: 05-27-21
The fact that this is one of his first books and has since improved both in characterization and in prose doesnt take away from the fact that this book is still charming as hell. In fact the more simplistic style has hit me more as a fairy tale than any of his other books and has simply left me feeling good.
I is also find it very fun to see where he has come from and how much improvement he has had with representation and characterization. I thoroughly enjoyed this cast, but they do represent how far he has come in his later works.
A perfect addition to any fantasy lovers library.

Historia
In the world of Warbreaker, each person is born endowed with the power of one Breath―which can be sold and collected by others, then used to Awaken objects and even corpses to do their bidding. A few individuals who die in glory return as gods, with the power of thousands of Breath, but no memory of their mortal lives―and are enthroned in the Court of Gods in Hallandren’s capital. To Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris, the abuse of Breath and the claim of the Returned to be gods are repugnant blasphemy.

A Wonderful Read
Revisado: 04-13-21
Coming off of the Stormlight Archive I had high expectations coming to warbreaker, and I was not disappointed. I was ready for a very fairytail, almost anime-esque adventure of the girl sent off to bare the tyrants child, and was thrown on so many more twists than I had anticipated.
The characters carried this plot above and beyond my preconceived ideas, and I loved watching their journeys.

Historia
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

Another Brilliant Addition
Revisado: 03-22-21
The story continues to expand in complexity, yet remains so digestable. There are so many different sides, understanding, morality, and justice that add so much weight to the growing world.
The characters struggle with their own battles as the world around them struggles. And I rooted for them the whole time, even if some of the chapters and character viewpoints were hard to get through sometimes. I never lost my hope for their success, and was constantly met with great payoff at the end.
I will anxiously be waiting for the next installment.

Blown Away
Revisado: 02-18-21
The way this story continues to evolve and grow has really fulfills something I never knew I was missing in storytelling. Each book has provided new challenges both broad and individual that you see resolve and yet also change.
I am continuously satisfied and drawn into more, and have yet to be disappointed.
This ending had me on the edge of my seat for hours. One of the best ends Ive seen so far, and find myself listening to the last chapter over and over again. Very powerful.
I cant wait for the next one.

Revisado: 02-08-21
While I am always anxious to get back to the main course of the series, this was a nice snippet into some very interesting and fun characters. Its fun to see things from such a childs perspective, and feel both big and small with Lift.
I cant wait to see more of her in the main books!

Amazed Again
Revisado: 02-02-21
The second book always tends to be a simple carryover and set up for endgame in my experience. But this truely extends on what the first book sets up while being distinctly its own story, paving the way for the series.
I found this book had a lot more space and time for fun with all that it has established. More humor in the characters and utilizing the framework to create its own fun. I really was taken in and found myself laughing and crying with the characters. A memorable continuation to a good series.
