Historia
Indiana Wild is as wild as the Montana ranch she was raised on. The youngest of four children, she was a delightful surprise for her older parents. She spends her time training horses and cow dogs and loving the freedom of the wide-open spaces. But when her grandfather dies, she discovers that her older brothers have different plans for the ranch she calls home - and for Indiana herself.

Unless you’re simply looking for soft porn, with shades of racism and sexism, don’t waste a credit…
Revisado: 01-27-24
The storyline had the possibility of being very good, unfortunately, with no reason, it just jumped to the sex. If the author had taken a little time to develop the relationships and develop the story, it could’ve been good. I did listen to a lot of it because it was the only thing I had downloaded for a long car drive in areas where there was no real signal. But would I recommend this? No. It’s really disappointing and beyond simplistic. I know there are better stories out there with more intrigue and even though it’s time travel, more plausibility to the relationships. Not to mention that it has shades of racism and anti-feminism… if you are down to your last few credits, don’t waste them on this story. Even if you’re looking for an easy read/listen.

My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails. Then Selene showed up. According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy 10-pound cat with a broken filter.

Pleasantly enjoyable
Revisado: 05-20-23
The opening is a little weak but then I got hooked on riley’s relationship with the ghosts and her girlfriends. The boyfriend was an interesting character but not that much. The story takes a turn, one I wasn’t really expecting, and the other turn was obvious and expected. All in all a very enjoyable story, and not too creepy, well really not creepy at all but still intriguing in the ghost relationships. I am looking forward to book #2.

Had Possibilities but worth a credit
Revisado: 04-21-23
The story had potential and I enjoyed that it was a biracial couple with the guy being white for a change instead of it being black guy white girl which is usually the case. The storyline that appears in between the flaky sex scenes, was sweet and in a number of places tapped on to issues that face young multicultural couples and handled it very well. But it really was salt and peppered with way too many amorous moments that were really pretty weak and not necessarily. Two sincerely hot scenes would have been sufficient, with just the occasional “they went home and had sex”, now on with a story.
I thought the narrator was very good. Her voice is very pleasant and she had the nuances of “real” conversation (that wasn’t over shadowed by weak sex dialogue), down pretty good. If you can get this book for free and you have a long, long, drive and hands-free fast forward, then it’s not too painful, but it’s not worth paying a credit for…

She’s partnered with Brendan O’Connor, a rare male banshee whose tall, dark, and broody good looks are a major distraction. Before long, it becomes clear that the artifact they’re studying is sentient - and brimming with supernatural power. This series is heartwarming and just plain FUN!!!
Revisado: 02-20-23
If you love fantasy, and you’re an adult, the Mystic Bayou series, is just plain fun. Warm good humor within a mystery, the characters are delightful, and the narrators are wonderful wonderful performers. The accents, and visualizations they create make this series perfect brain candy. The love scenes are responsible, but still a little racy for young readers so in my old fashion way, I wouldn’t recommend them for anyone under the age of 15.

Historia
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

Fun. Not bad or risqué for a shapeshifting romance.
Revisado: 12-11-22
Lite, interesting, fun, not creepy or scary, but intriguing. A good multi-tasking listen. Loved both narrators. First time for me to listen to a Shapeshifting Romance. I was waiting to be sort of creeped out, but quite the contrary it was fun.

Magical, not gruesome, recommend for Adults and Kids
Revisado: 12-06-22
This is a great multi- tasking listen. I listened while making crafts; held my interest and easy to follow. Suitable for kids and adults, I’d say ages 7-80+ who enjoy magical stories but NOT looking for Disney!!What I love about Ms. Swendson is her magical ability to weave a story. Having listened to all of her Enchanted Inc. stories (most of them twice) and loving every one of them, I had hopes for “A Fairy Tale” and it did live up to my hopes. So far Enchanted Inc. is still by far my favorite series, but A Fairy Tale was a good buffer for my magical reading withdrawal symptoms. What truly was the best part was it didn’t end in a traditional fashion, the suspense and the story carried beyond the obvious ending point. The older sister’s quest to save her younger sister from the Fairies sounds juvenile but actually it’s well worth a lite adult read.

Super performance insipid main character!
Revisado: 09-13-22
Her first book was fun not prize-winning but entertaining to listen to while multitasking. I thought I’d give her second book a try and I’m sorry to say it’s really not even worth multitasking. Well, I take that back because the story itself is good but in both books it’s the main character ,Lacey Crocker, who embodies horrible blonde joke stereotype. She’s just annoying as all get out, insipid and ditzy; But I love the narrator, and as I said the stories overall are really very good - she just has to do something to improve her insipid “Protagonist”…

Fun and beautifully written
Revisado: 08-06-22
I generally don’t care for stories written in first person. However this one is delightful and very well written. The characters are strong and although I know nothing about Korean culture or Pop-stars, and I would never have considered listening to such a story, it happened by accident and I’m really glad I did! I do recommend it for those who are looking for something lite yet has cultural substance.

Not worth a credit…
Revisado: 06-30-22
Sorry to say but this story is not only obvious but sadly very boring. Nothing intriguing; anyone who’s ever read a novel knows where this one is headed. Nothing about the characters are endearing, nothing about the story is intriguing. If you only have one credit I would spend it on some other book. If you’re into romance novels I would try one of the gazillion that Nora Roberts has written. If you’re into westerns, I would try a Tony Hillerman or his daughter but you have to like a good murder mystery to enjoy the Hillermans. At any rate, Mail Order Bride is droll and uninteresting and there’s no way I’m spending another credit on the next one in the series…
