John Puller's older brother, Robert, was convicted of treason and national security crimes. His inexplicable escape from prison makes him the most wanted criminal in the country. Some in the government believe that John Puller represents their best chance at capturing Robert alive, and so Puller takes on the burden of bringing his brother in to face justice. But Puller quickly discovers that there are others pursuing his brother, who only see Robert as a traitor and are unconcerned if he survives.

Pretty good
Revisado: 03-27-25
The first Puller book in the series is still my favorite. This one was pretty good. A lot of names to remember so you really have to pay attention. As always with almost every David Baldacci audio book, the narration is superb.

Historia
It is early spring, a turbulent, perilous time of sudden storms, frozen river fractures and drifting ice. Fleeing from a demon intent on devouring his souls, Wolf is swept out to sea far from the forest and his pack. The ocean, too, teems with danger: sea wolves, sharks and hunters of the deep, and the demon is gaining ground. Torak and Renn must race to save their pack-brother, battling the harsh icy waves and merciless torrents. If they can't find Wolf in time, the bond between them will be severed forever....

I’ve enjoyed all of the CoAD novels but found this one an exceptional favorite. You will want to read Viper’s daughter first, as it sets up part of this story.
And for the record I’m 63.

The final book of Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove tetralogy is an exhilarating tale of legend and heroism. Riding with Call are an Eastern city slicker, a witless deputy, and one of the last members of the Hat Creek outfit, Pea Eye Parker, now married to Lorena -- once Gus McCrae's sweetheart. A great end to the series
Revisado: 12-11-24
I’ve now read all four Lonesome Dove novels. This was a fitting finale and a very good read. As with all of the books, Larry McMurty has the ability to pull the reader (listener) in. I felt I was right there with the characters experiencing their joys and heartaches. Great story telling and memorable characters.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
In Rocks, Joe Perry exposes his unrepentant, unbridled life as the lead guitarist of Aerosmith. He delves deep into his volatile, profound, and enduring relationship with singer Steve Tyler and reveals the real people behind the larger-than-life rock gods onstage. The nearly five-decade saga of Aerosmith is epic, at once a study in brotherhood and solitude that plays out on the killing fields of rock and roll.

Revisado: 10-23-24
I have a new level of respect for Joe. He’s always been my favorite Aerosmith member. But hearing his whole story in his own words and voice put him in a new light. He doesn’t sugar coat the bad or embellish the good. He just tells it like it was. And is. You did a great job Joe. I enjoyed it immensely.

The setting is the Georgia wilderness, where the state's most remote white-water river awaits. In the thundering froth of that river, in its echoing stone canyons, four men on a canoe trip discover a freedom and exhilaration beyond compare. Historia
In the late nineteenth century, close diplomatic relations existed between the United States and Russia. All that changed when George Kennan went to Siberia in 1885 to investigate the exile system and his eyes were opened to the brutality Russia was wielding to suppress dissent. Over ten months Kennan traveled eight thousand miles, mostly in horse-drawn carriages, sleighs, or on horseback. He endured suffocating sandstorms in the summer and blizzards in the winter. His interviews with convicts and political exiles revealed how Russia ran on the fuel of inflicted pain and fear.

Decent in-depth history
Revisado: 07-02-24
The history and description of the landscape was interesting. Unfortunately I had a hard time with the narration. It was a little too upbeat and cheery for the dark suffering that was going on. 4 for the story. 3, maybe 2 for the narration.
