Addiction Steals Your Soul

This was an incredible story of perseverance through the fight to get clean from drug addiction. I understand so much better how addiction controls all of your decisions and actions even when you know they’re wrong. Highly recommend.

Great ending, first 2/3 of the book too long

The first two-thirds of the book dragged by. The ending was great. The plot went by very slowly until the last two hours or so of the book.

Did anyone in this story besides the main character have friends outside the family? The story was nice, but the plot was narrow and somewhat unbelievable. However, it was for the most part a pleasant and enjoyable read.

Great feel good story

Arthur is a simple man of little words and few means, but the love he gives by just being himself is enormous and healing. There are some darker moments in the book, but overall the story seems somewhat utopian. Arthur accepts life as it is. He’s patient. He’s giving. He’s a great listener and he exudes gratitude and grace.

Not a book about Mindfulness!

I bought this book with the misguided belief from the title that I would learn more about mindfulness - how to practice it more fully and also to learn how it works. Instead the author uses this book to give his opinion on everything that’s wrong with the world - leaders, healthcare, etc, and to say that all of this can be ameliorated through a more widespread adoption of mindfulness. I learned nothing more about mindfulness itself.
