Historia
As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes. Back in District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying not to think too hard about his chances. All he cares about is making it through the day and being with the girl he loves.

Great addition to the Hunger Games saga
Revisado: 04-06-25
Love the story. It was interesting to see how Haymitch rebelled in similar ways to Katniss, although ultimately she had more success. This story was easier for me to get into and continue reading compared to Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but the callbacks to Lucy Gray were cool little moments. Overall, the story really detailed what tragedies and losses Haymitch went through to become the mentor he was in the main trilogy. Loved it and will read it again. Would definitely recommend it.

Historia
So many illusions crumbled when death touched Eleanore Wright. She ran away from the ruins of one life toward the ruins of another. When she discovered that her husband and grandmother both died on the same day, maybe the same hour, a series of events were set in motion that would change her life forever. Nothing in the world was what it seemed. She ran to a place from her past and found a stranger there, with scars, a hammer in hand, and stains on his boots. Will she find peace within the house’s peeling paint, dusty rooms, and mysterious sounds?

It’s ok not a favorite
Revisado: 03-22-25
The story started off interesting and it was definitely different. I’m not sure how I feel about Eleanor and her best friend talked like a teen. I was also waiting to find out “what she was or what her power was” but it never said, it just kept indicating she was sleep walking. This is not one of my favorites. Loved it!
Revisado: 03-19-25
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are great. Loved Emily, Nell’s sister. Nell was the protective big sister and paranormal investigator. Love Emily’s snarky attitude. All the characters were interesting and likable in their own way. The storyline was well thought out and has a nice flow. The narrator did a great job giving each character their own voice. I will definitely read/listen to this one again.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Incredible narration!
Revisado: 01-24-25
I loved listening to this book. Rosamund Pike was the perfect narrator, I can't think of anyone who could top her performance for this story.
The entire Bennet family was entertaining, even though Mrs. Bennet made me roll my eyes at some of her reactions and comments to things.
If you like drama and gossip with a satisfying and happy ending, this book might be for you. Great listen/read!

Did not hold my interest
Revisado: 10-16-24
I wanted to like this story but I could only listen for about 30 minutes at a time before I had to stop. I could not get into the story at all, it seemed to be a lot of explaining the “dream dancers” rather than creating good characters, settings or story line.

The small town of Yarrow Glen is Willa’s fresh start, and she’s determined to make it a success - starting with a visit from the local food critic. She doesn’t think the night can get any worse until she finds the critic’s dead body, stabbed with one of her shop’s cheese knives.

I wasn't sure about this book from the first chapter. I didn't care for Willa at all. The story was okay but I struggled to finish it. I did like the detective and a few of the other the characters. This one just wasn't for me.

Historia
Detective Lauren Pengelly has only been part of the Penzance police force for less than two years, but that’s enough time to know that the sleepy Cornish town doesn’t see many murders. So, when the bones of a woman with a hole in her skull are discovered behind a derelict cottage, she immediately assumes the worst. Rallying her team, Lauren is flooded with a strange sense of relief when the bones turn out to be almost twenty years old, not a recent victim. But it quickly turns to dread when she receives her second heart-stopping call of the day–a little girl, Isla, has been kidnapped.
