Historia
On Memorial Day in Jewel, Minnesota, the body of wealthy landowner Jimmy Quinn is found floating in the Alabaster River, dead from a shotgun blast. The investigation falls to Sheriff Brody Dern, a highly decorated war hero who still carries the physical and emotional scars from his military service. Even before Dern has the results of the autopsy, vicious rumors begin to circulate that the killer must be Noah Bluestone, a Native American WWII veteran who has recently returned to Jewel with a Japanese wife.

Historia
Over twenty years ago, the heiress Patricia Lockwood was abducted during a robbery of her family's estate, then locked inside an isolated cabin for months. Patricia escaped, but so did her captors - and the items stolen from her family were never recovered. Until now. On the Upper West Side, a recluse is found murdered in his penthouse apartment, alongside two objects of note: a stolen Vermeer painting and a leather suitcase bearing the initials WHL3. For the first time in years, the authorities have a lead - with the suitcase and painting both pointing them toward one man.

Well crafted story performed with appropriate snottiness.
Revisado: 02-15-23
First read of this author and enjoyed .it was the right book at the right time. It is complex and intriguing, nothing I would have thought of or predicted which I thoroughly enjoyed. I will definitely seek out more.
The protagonist was delightfully funny although I suspect he wouldn’t care to be described that way.

Unusual t hriller
Revisado: 12-18-22
From the first p age, the pace never slows in this unusual novel. Rough people who live rough lives, but they maintain a connectivity with us regular folk who look to them for entertainment. A remarkable combination, done by commonalities in feelings, loyalty, and humanity.

Delightful quirky character stranded in malls.

This is an amazing novel that maintains interest and curiosity with only one person Center stage. It is funny to the point of being ridiculous and yet has much merit.

Riveting plot, endearing quirky characters, and high, non-stop suspense
Revisado: 03-20-22
Terrific suspense that seems non-stop makes this series special. The quirky characters, including the dog, have captured my imagination as well as my heart. I can’t wait to get the next book.Very creative and exciting as well as beyond the usual and expected.
Reader is excellent. Easy to understand even in high tension scenes.
Fully recommend this series. Great lines in the humor department also.
