While I enjoyed the story very much, I honestly could not get past Michael Pauley's narration. I have never heard so many words mispronounced in one Audible production. It was absolutely ridiculous and definitely detracted from the story. At least he did not do his typical growling out of dialogue, as he has in other Michelle Howard's books.

While the story was riveting and thoroughly enjoyable, it is the narration that really makes this the best Kristen Ashley book I have ever heard. I read the book on Kindle and really enjoyed it, but when I listened to it on Audible, OMG!!! Every time the narrator has Lhan say "Okay", I had to stop to fan myself ;). There is a small amount of domestic/sexual abuse, both literal and implied, so if that is a trigger for you, be aware. While I do not, in any fashion, approve of domestic abuse, I honestly can understand it in this context, considering the completely different culture in which they are living. It doesn't mean that I like it or approve of it, only that I can understand it.

While I like most KA books in general, I honestly cannot recommend this Audible enough. Listening to this totally brings this book to a higher level. You won't be disappointed.

So Disappointed

The H in this book was so obnoxious, mean and meanspirited that I could not finish this book. There was nothing attractive or redeeming about him, and I did not see this changing. I just could not believe that the h could want anything to do with him. This is my first book by this author and honestly, I don't know that I will try others of her books. So disappointed.

I have read at least a dozen books by S.E. Smith and have enjoyed them all, but I just could not finish Choosing Riley. The h was so obnoxious. No one actually acts like that in real life, even if they have been kidnapped to a different planet. She was so mean and rude and talked to people like they were sh*t. I just could not listen to anymore of her mouth. She was a smart a** in the worst way. Not charming or witty, just rude and mean. I could not believe that someone would actually act that way, or that anyone would find her antics attractive. The story itself was interesting, and I will try other books by this author, but I just cannot finish this one, no matter how hard I try. So disappointed.

Excellent as usual!

I love all of Carian Cole's books but this one was the first to make me cry. I really enjoyed this story. There was no insta love but two people getting to know each other and slowly falling in love.

Not the Best in the Series

I liked the story but I have to say Shy is not my favorite H. A bit of a jerk IMHO although very sexy when he was being sweet, which was often. The H doesn't have to be an a$$ to be an alpha. Look at Joker, Hop, Slim or even Knight. The story was interesting and well written. Didn't care too much for the narrator because her inflection rarely matched the emotion stated. I think this is the first time I haven't given 5 stars to a KA book.

First let me say that I love all things Laurann Dohner. I have read all the different series, automatically order any new book from her and have always been throughly pleased. Until now. :( I was really looking forward to Kraven because I thought Drantos was really good and the VLG series was interesting. The reality of the situation, however, was very disappointing. Kraven, the hero, was a fun, sexy, protective, alpha male, as you would expect with a Laurann book. Unfortunately the herione, Betina, was a total b*tch. She was so rude, obnoxious, arrogant, over the top, and just plain stupid, I could not understand what Kraven ever saw in her. Why he would be willing to overlook such serious personality flaws and put up with her constant verbal abuse, I just don't understand. I have always managed to overlook the fact that most of Laurann's H/h manage to have sex within minutes of meeting each other and are ready to commit their lives/are hopelessly in love, after just a few days. Some of her books take place in less than a two week period! But her books are so fun, heartwarming, suspenseful and the characters so charming I was willing to go with it. But this book was just too much. I seriously hope future books are not of the same ilk as this one and get back to characters I can at least root for if not like, care about and sympathize with.

Worst narration EVER!!!!

The narration was so horrible I could not even finish the book. Of what I listened to, the story was not bad, but I couldn't get past the overacting of the narrator.

Great story but get an EDITOR

The story was wonderful and kept me interested. I will always buy books by this author. Unfortunately, it reads as though it was not edited at all and English is her second language. Very frustrating and distracting. But the story is so good I still have to read it and all of her other books as well. The narration is fantastic. Love the different voices and sound effects.
