Historia
In the summer of 1862, a group of young artists led by the passionate and talented Edward Radcliffe descends upon Birchwood Manor in rural Oxfordshire. Their plan: to spend a secluded summer month in a haze of inspiration and creativity. But by the time their stay is over, one woman has been shot dead while another has disappeared; a priceless heirloom is missing; and Edward Radcliffe’s life is in ruins. Over 150 years later, Elodie Winslow, a young archivist in London, uncovers a leather satchel containing two seemingly unrelated items.

Great Story
Revisado: 04-19-19
I loved this story, but as another person said, it felt unfinished. It took me 10 chapters to like the narrator. It sounded like a thirteen year old girl for most of the female readings so it was difficult to distinguish between female characters. Also, because the voice didn't change, you had to be on the ball when there was a time change. But the story itself and characters were fantastic.

Historia
It’s rumoured that Dickens wanted to return to his classic novel Oliver Twist, to bring him back into a later book as an older character, but he never managed this before he died. However, if Oliver had returned, what would he have been like? Would the scars of his childhood affect the man he would become? And what of ‘Dodger’, sent to a land halfway around the world, his friend, mentor and master dead because of Oliver? Dodge & Twist is that story. The tale of two boys, 12 years later, returning into each other’s lives - for both good and bad.

Delightful bunch of characters. The presentation was very good. Only thing was sometimes too much and too loud music.

If you could sum up The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter in three words, what would they be?
Enjoyable, engrossing, lightweight
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
It's not really an edge-of-your-seat book. I was engrossed in finding out what they were going to do next.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me smile and laugh

This is one of the best in the series. It was such a fun surprise to have a story about Mrs. Hudson's past and her long-standing relationship with Sherlock. Certainly gave a different view of Sherlock himself.

Historia
Being on the murder squad is nothing like Detective Antoinette Conway dreamed it would be. Her partner, Stephen Moran, is the only person who seems glad she's there. The rest of her working life is a stream of thankless cases, vicious pranks, and harassment. Antoinette is savagely tough, but she's getting close to the breaking point. Their new case looks like yet another by-the-numbers lovers' quarrel gone bad. Aislinn Murray is blond, pretty, groomed to a shine, and dead in her catalogue-perfect living room, next to a table set for a romantic dinner.

By me too much police procedure.
Revisado: 12-11-17
I thought Hilda Fay's reading was one of the best. She absolutely nabbed Antoinette. In the end I enjoyed the story, but not in between. The animosity between Antoinette and her coworkers got annoying after a while. Maybe there had to be that much devoted to it in order to make the story work in the end, but for me, it was annoying.

Historia
Often compared to both Ruth Rendell and P.D. James, Deborah Crombie is internationally acclaimed for her deftly written mysteries that combine suspense, with lyrical prose. Sharply etched characters further enrich this story of tangled relationships and dark secrets. Twelve years after their divorce, Scotland Yard Superintendent Duncan Kincaid receives a phone call from his ex-wife Victoria asking for his help.

Just OK
Revisado: 04-12-17
Would you try another book from Deborah Crombie and/or Jenny Sterlin?
I like Deborah Crombie books and would read another. I did not like Jenny Sterlin's narration. Although her voice is pleasant, there was not enough differentiation between the characters' voices
Would you recommend Dreaming of the Bones to your friends? Why or why not?
No. I found the characters very hard to have any feeling for, except for Duncan and Gemma. Much later in the book, I started to have more feeling for them.
Do you think Dreaming of the Bones needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Certainly follow up on Duncan's progression with his child. The rest of the story seems to have a suitable end.

A nine-year-old boy is found murdered at the bottom of a well near a popular beach resort in southern Italy. In what looks like a hopeless case for Guido Guerrieri, a Senegalese peddler is accused of the crime. Faced with small-town racism, Guido attempts to exploit the esoteric workings of the Italian courts. The voice of Sean Barrett brings this gritty Italian detective series to life.

Great story
Revisado: 12-13-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Sort of. The story was great,
Who was your favorite character and why?
I found Guido quite an interesting character, good qualities, bad qualities...
How could the performance have been better?
This is the part I had the most trouble with. It was difficult for me to listen to an Italian without the Italian accent and intonations that go along with the thoughts. Otherwise, the narrator's performance was excellent (had it been a British or American novel).

Fantastic story and great narration
Revisado: 12-11-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it is a great mystery with characters that one wants to know. They are interesting and the dialog never wanes.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, lots of layers.
What about Ralph Cosham’s performance did you like?
Don't know what to say here, his narration is perfect and I think of him as Inspector Gamache.
