Great first effort for everyone. I want more.

This review has been a long time coming. A Really long time actually. I’ve taken my time with this book. I’ve read it twice, and listened to it once. While a bit rocky at a couple points in the beginning once the story settles in on itself it really gets going. The author really shines with the military aspect of things, which lends to the fast pace nature of the story. It is a tour de force for sure, something that I feel that only the real life experiences of the author can actually enhance the story.
Giving old sci-fi tropes a blend and a twist. Wrenching them into the modern era, and forcing them into a military fiction is always fun, and mildly terrifying in some ways. I anxiously await the next installment from this author. Be it a sequel or new series. I’m hooked.
Now for the guy reading it.
I have never heard of this guy before, and looking him up I've found no other books he has read. So I assume this is his first narration. what a fantastic first job. The base in this mans voice made me turn the volume down in my head phones. He does everything I like a narrator to do. Have a wonderful pace, have a variation of voice between characters, and put effort in. I'm looking forward to hearing more from him.

I'm a grown man and I got misty eyed

I'm a grown man, who listens to Audio books while working my assembly line job. Today I finished this book and I am only mildly ashamed I got a bit misty eyed. Such a wonderful ending to this series. Who would've figured a wacky little book about space hamsters and a sentient beer can could've been so much fun. Thank you Mr Alanson for writing a series that made my work days go by so much quick and thank you Mr Bray for being such an amazing voice and having fun with it.

I wasn't expecting anything other than a nice little story. I got much more than that. Jim Butcher does an oddly good job of narrating too.

Everything about this book was amazing. I can honestly say I did not see the ending coming and that I am excited for future works.

Weird turns and Missing context

This took a weird turn. like strange Romantic choices? Seems kinda forced, shoehorned, or something. like it just feels like it was added as an after thought well after characters were established, and there felt like there was no build up to it.

Basically I am editing this because I've thought about it alot morem it feels like I am missing context like this book feels abridged. Is it abridged? Everything from Character relationships to the climax of the book feels like ive just missed the build up to it. Its a good series but I think the pacing is way out of wack.

Man I love this series

I hate how much I love this series. The cliff hangers hurt so good. Its the most perfect pop Science Fiction series I've ever read or Listened too.

The Best

This series has rapidly become one of my all time favorites. They are the perfect length to help get through a couple long work days. The pacing is some of the best I've experienced. The the voice acting is superb. Just buy the books already.

Mostly Meh

This is about twice as long as it needs to be, More of an advert for Huffington post than a horror novel, and needlessly preachy. You can almost tell when king sperged out when he would get triggered over one of Trumps tweets. Voice actor did great, only reason i finished it.
