Historia
Does your workplace have too few Black people in top jobs? It’s racist. Does the advanced math and science high school in your city have too many Asians? It’s racist. Does your local museum employ too many White women? It’s racist, too. After the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, prestigious American institutions, from the medical profession to the fine arts, pleaded guilty to “systemic racism”.

Historia
Americans are understandably squeamish about official racial and ethnic classifications. Nevertheless, applying for a job, mortgage, university, citizenship, government contracts, and more involves checking a box stating whether one is Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, or Native American. In an increasingly diverse society with high rates of intergroup marriage, the American system of racial classification is getting even more absurd. Classified argues that the time has come to consider abolishing official racial classification and replace it with the separation of race and state.

Historia
This is his story, or, rather, stories - lots of them, and all gut-punchingly hilarious, from that first far reach into a girl's tight jeans to turning forty with a cataclysmic party. In between you’ll hear about acid trips, threesomes, Nazi skinheads, his band Anal Chinook (Inuit for “warm wind”), Martians in northern Canada, throwing pedophiles in jail, dinner with the Clash, what happens when you crash Bill Maher's show wasted, and the true story of Vice magazine.

This book sucks which I think is the point
Revisado: 11-21-22
Gavin seems to think he's interesting enough to write a book about his life. He's not. He cares so much that he's dedicated his whole life to pretending he cares the least. The result is lots of random life events that were manifested for the sole purpose of being stories that he can tell to seem interesting. This book sucks and I like him a lot less now that I know he's got no substance to him at all.

Historia
Richard Dawkins' brilliant reformulation of the theory of natural selection has the rare distinction of having provoked as much excitement and interest outside the scientific community as within it. His theories have helped change the whole nature of the study of social biology, and have forced thousands to rethink their beliefs about life.

Historia
In sharing his stories, Atlas reveals the philosophy by which he lives. Like Teddy Atlas - inimitable, tough, honest, and wise - this book inspires. It is about so much more than boxing. It is a story of overcoming hardships, of compassion for those in need, of tremendous personal integrity, and of personal and professional triumph.

This book shows us the process by which recruits are taught to stifle dissent and learn to just go along. The author eventually finds it impossible to tolerate these abuses. Someone has to do something about it. But can the Federal Air Marshal Service accept criticism from within? Will a whistleblower be successful?

You'd think she survived D-day
Revisado: 07-10-19
this book is basically the ramblings of a very young girl who thinks her struggles are much greater than they are. I feel for her and recognize that she's a very nice person but it's really hard to sympathize. although I agree with nearly all of her political beliefs, I often don't agree with how she arrives at her conclusions. her life is thoroughly uninteresting and her experiences are minimal. however I think she is an extremely important political voice and I want to support her so I do not regret buying the book. her explanation of the Glenn Beck situation was the best part.

Historia
In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

Historia
In the Second World War every bond between man and man was to perish. Crimes were committed by the Hitler regime which find no equal in scale and wickedness with any that have darkened the human record. It was a simple policy to keep Germany disarmed after the struggle of the First World War and the Victors adequately armed in vigilance. But errors were soon made.
