Historia
Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Roger "Butch" Karp has been around New York long enough to realize that the judicial system can be dirty and cynical. But he still believes in justice. So when a vicious sociopath tries to dodge a brutal murder charge by convincing the court he is incompetent to stand trial, Karp teams up with firecracker Assistant DA Marlene Ciampi to unleash the full force of their relentless energy, hardboiled wit, and passion for the truth to put the killer away for good. They will accept no lesser plea.

Will not be selecting any more from this author

The story could have been told just as well without the use of f——— in every other sentence. It was long and not very interesting. The only reason I kept listening was I needed to know how it ended. If I would have just skipped to the last chapter, could have found out with little lost.

Worth your time
Revisado: 05-13-23
After finishing a book full of inappropriate and unnecessary words, it was a breath of fresh air to listen to this and proves that the f word is not at all necessary for a good story. This was even a better story, better characters and better narrator. I will look for more by this author.

Historia
On the morning after Harry Cline’s funeral, a rare ice storm hits the town of Wesleyan, Georgia. The community wakes up to find its controversial statue of Confederate general Henry Benning destroyed—and not by the weather. Half the town had wanted to remove the statue; the other half had wanted to preserve it. Now that the matter has been taken out of their hands, the town’s long-simmering tensions are laid bare. When the Moon Turns Blue is a timely novel about family, friendship, and what can happen when we discover that we don’t particularly like the people we love.

How nice to listen to a book without having to cringe because of the use of unappreciated language. The story was interesting and I enjoyed learning to know the people.

But what should be an easy trial turns complicated when Nash somehow intimidates her eyewitness, and he recants his testimony on the eve of the trial. I always enjoy listening to her. Any author who cannot write a good book without using poor choice of words, which the story would be better without, will not get more than 4 stars from me.

I'm not supposed to leave the house. But what my husband doesn't know won't kill him. I break his rules every morning on my runs. It's always been best when I have a routine. So every day I wake up, run, clean the house, wish for a better life, repeat. Every day is exactly the same. Except Thursdays. I live and breathe for Thursdays. It's when he comes. I watch from a distance. I can't help myself. But I was never supposed to talk to him. I know what you're thinking. But you don't know my story. You don't know the kind of monster my husband is. And trust me, you have no idea who I am.

Historia
Leigh Collier has worked hard to build what looks like a normal life. She has a good job as a defense attorney, a daughter doing well in school, and even her divorce is relatively civilized - her life is just as unremarkable as she’d always hoped it would be. But Leigh’s ordinary life masks a childhood that was far from average...a childhood tarnished by secrets, broken by betrayal, and finally torn apart by a devastating act of violence.

I just do not understand why authors seem to believe that their book will be so much better with the f word. It was used so much in this book and totally unnecessary! THEN added Jesus Christ in front of it - just tell me why?? I will probably not be choosing and more of her writings.

Historia
Joey Green has returned to Beaufort, South Carolina, with its palmettos and shrimp boats, to look after his ailing father, who is succumbing to dementia, while his overstressed mother takes a break. Marshall Green’s short-term memory has all but evaporated, but his oldest memories are more vivid than ever. His mind keeps slipping backward in time, retreating into growing up in Beaufort as a boy. At first, this seems like a blessing of sorts, but Joey grows increasingly anxious as his father’s hallucinatory arguments with figures from his youth begin to hint at deadly secrets.

Wish I could have given all 5 stars for all of the book. I don’t give 5 stars to authors who cannot write without using the F word. The story could have been told without it. I would have loved to recommend it to others but will hesitate because of it. Other than that, a great listen.
