Historia
Our most precious resource isn’t money. It’s time. Not only are we allotted just 24 hours a day and an unknown number of years, we also live in a culture that tricks us into feeling “time poor”, like we never have enough. Based on her wildly popular class at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, Professor Cassie Holmes guides us in how to immediately improve our lives by better investing our time.

A practical, comprehensive evidence-based system to cultivate and sustain transformative self-confidence.

This is not a light read/listen, nor a quick fix — which is why it actually works. It is a detailed roadmap that must be read and re-read over many months as you gradually internalize the concepts and put each technique into practice.
Like his previous work, Mindful Self Discipline (which I strongly recommend as a companion to Wise Confidence), this book will change your life for the better if you practice, practice, practice these proven techniques.

Historia
If you want to live a life of purpose, build good habits, and achieve your goals, there is one skill that is more important than anything else: self-discipline. Self-discipline is not about self-punishment; it’s about self-respect. It is about living your best life. It is the superpower of focus in a world of distractions—allowing you to overcome procrastination, excuses, bad habits, low motivation, failures, and self-doubt. With it, you can stay on track with your values and goals even when you don’t feel motivated.

Packed with actionable evidence-based practices. There is so much valuable information that I recommend reading/listening to this book again and again. I will keep coming back to this book for years to come for wisdom, inspiration, motivation, and to continue to improve my practice of mindful self-discipline. This book will change your life for the better if you let it.

Historia
In Good Morning, I Love You, Dr. Shauna Shapiro brings alive the brain science behind why we feel the way we do - about ourselves, each other, and the world - and explains why we get stuck in thinking that doesn’t serve us. It turns out that we are hardwired to be self-critical and negative! And this negativity is constantly undermining our experience of life.

Packed with simple techniques backed by science.
Revisado: 06-13-21
The author covers a lot of ground regarding evidence based mindfulness and meditation techniques -- all in a concise and digestible format. The greatest value for the reader comes after one puts the techniques to practice consistently over many days and ideally, for life. However, even my own initial unskillful and infrequent practice still yields some positive results, which motivated me to continue developing a more intentional and consistent daily practice.
True mindfulness is simple, but not easy. It will change your life. These practices work. Put them to the test and find out for yourself.
Two minor things I didn't love about this audiobook were the pitch of the author's voice (not her fault, but I generally prefer voiceover professionals with lower voices rather than author narration) and the heavy use of the word "sweetheart," to which I aparrently have a strong personal aversion.
