This is not a light read/listen, nor a quick fix — which is why it actually works. It is a detailed roadmap that must be read and re-read over many months as you gradually internalize the concepts and put each technique into practice.

Like his previous work, Mindful Self Discipline (which I strongly recommend as a companion to Wise Confidence), this book will change your life for the better if you practice, practice, practice these proven techniques.

Packed with actionable evidence-based practices. There is so much valuable information that I recommend reading/listening to this book again and again. I will keep coming back to this book for years to come for wisdom, inspiration, motivation, and to continue to improve my practice of mindful self-discipline. This book will change your life for the better if you let it.

The author covers a lot of ground regarding evidence based mindfulness and meditation techniques -- all in a concise and digestible format. The greatest value for the reader comes after one puts the techniques to practice consistently over many days and ideally, for life. However, even my own initial unskillful and infrequent practice still yields some positive results, which motivated me to continue developing a more intentional and consistent daily practice.

True mindfulness is simple, but not easy. It will change your life. These practices work. Put them to the test and find out for yourself.

Two minor things I didn't love about this audiobook were the pitch of the author's voice (not her fault, but I generally prefer voiceover professionals with lower voices rather than author narration) and the heavy use of the word "sweetheart," to which I aparrently have a strong personal aversion.
