Historia
What would happen if a shy introvert lived like a gregarious extrovert for one year? If she knowingly and willingly put herself in perilous social situations that she’d normally avoid at all costs? Writer Jessica Pan intends to find out. With the help of various extrovert mentors, Jessica sets up a series of personal challenges (talk to strangers, perform stand-up comedy, host a dinner party, travel alone, make friends on the road, and much, much worse) to explore whether living like an extrovert can teach her lessons that might improve the quality of her life.

Such thoughtful portrayals of both her successes and her failures

This is a great book for anyone to read, whether or not they consider themselves an introvert. Everyone can stand to learn something about reaching out, taking chances, making new connections, and this author does it in such a lighthearted, friendly, accessible manner.

Riveting story and characters

The writing was beautiful, the story was compelling. Some of the narrators were wonderful, although others detracted from the story.
Overall, I really loved the book.

Historia
Ever have one of those days where life just plain sucks? Welcome to my last three months - ever since I caught my can’t-be-soon-enough-ex-husband cheating with his paralegal. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve lost my NYC apartment, my job, my money, and frankly, my dignity. But the final heartache in the suck sandwich of my life? My great-aunt Maggie died. The only family member who’s ever gotten me. Even after death, though, she’s helping me get back up again. Too bad that bravado only lasts as long as it takes to drive into Huckleberry Hills. And see the house.

If I had paid for this, I’d have returned for my credit

I’m gonna finish it. I’m about 19 minutes from the end. I’ll finish tomorrow. I can go through about a book or two a day easily. That’s why I really love these free selections.
But, hey, come on. This lady’s divorce sounds similar to mine. Except mine also involved young children. But for Pete’s sake, stop the excessive whining, and get on with your life. It’s not even until hour 4 that she actually gets *mad* at her estranged husband. SERIOUSLY?!? Lame.
Anyway, hopefully, she’s gonna get her shit together. I’m still rooting for her.

This was such a great book. Everyone should read it. Shocking and terrifying that it’s all actually true.
