Historia
The machine that wasn’t meant to be created, and yet it was: the merit goes to a small team of engineers, who disobeyed their bosses’ orders, messed with international politics and crafted something unthinkable for the time. This episode of Italian Culture unveils what’s behind the first personal computer ever produced, the Olivetti's Programma 101. We’ll investigate how Piergiorgio Perotto and his group managed to make computers humane and paved the way for the modern information society. Today’s guests are Beniamino De Liguori, Gastone Garziera and Giovanni De Sandre.

Great subject, poor sound
Revisado: 07-22-22
I want to listen to this podcast, just there is no sound engineering/ post production cleaning up the feedback. The narrator I believe is good, but it sounds like he's whispering into the microphone, so he's hard to understand. Please clean it up and re-release! I would like to enjoy the podcast and not struggle to hear it.

Kissing up big time!
Revisado: 12-25-21
It's a podcast where a group of aging hipsters, kiss up to other Hollywood elite. In the terms of Adam Carolla it's a "A** kiss rodeo."

Historia
The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Much more than the title
Revisado: 12-15-21
The book included much more than Arthurian legend and brought light to many other stories in stories and how they relate to popular culture.

Historia
Yugoslavia was arguably one of the most unusual geopolitical creations of the 20th century. The Yugoslav state had never existed in any historical sense, and the ties that bound together its constituent peoples were tenuous at best. Although nominally all “Slavs,” the country was an amalgamation of languages, alphabets, cultures, religions, and traditions, which ensured its short existence was littered with splits, conflicts, and shocking violence. In a sense, it’s somewhat surprising that it lasted as long as it did.

Slow down the read to .85 to .75 of normal
Revisado: 09-28-19
There was good information, although the read was fast, but sounded digitally sped up. So I slowed it down and it sounded much better. There are a lot major events that are quickly touched on, but nothing goes very in depth. it is based mostly from about the time of the occupation of the Ottomans in Serbia, until millenia. I wished there was more information on culture and traditons, and and older history. Also, most of the history was based around happenings with the Serbs and minimal information about Croatians or the Dalmatian coast.

Historia
One of the great fears many of us face is that despite all our effort and striving, we will discover at the end that we have wasted our life. In A Guide to the Good Life, William B. Irvine plumbs the wisdom of Stoic philosophy, one of the most popular and successful schools of thought in ancient Rome, and shows how its insight and advice are still remarkably applicable to modern lives. In A Guide to the Good Life, Irvine offers a refreshing presentation of Stoicism, showing how this ancient philosophy can still direct us toward a better life.

Very long overview
Revisado: 10-24-17
The narration was good although the material seem to talk in circles. Many of the themes are things that most people probably already understand. This book helps to compartmentalize many things we already know, it just helps place them under a stoic category.

An extraordinary chronicle of Venice, its people, and its grandeur Thomas Madden’s majestic, sprawling history of Venice is the first full portrait of the city in English in almost thirty years. Using long-buried archival material and a wealth of newly translated documents, Madden weaves a spellbinding story of a place and its people, tracing an arc from the city’s humble origins as a lagoon refuge to its apex as a vast maritime empire and Renaissance epicenter to its rebirth as a modern tourist hub.

Understand Venice in a whole new light.
Revisado: 10-18-17
The naration is great not to boysterous, but entertaining enough to keep you engaged for long periods. After listening to the history of Venice you look at European history much differently, and understand that your American education is slanted to favor the English and French. And the real crusaders were the Venetians, everyone else talked a good game.
