It’s just not for me.

The story is nice enough to and the performance was well executed, but I could just not get engaged. Characters felt too shallow and there was a predictability that made the story move very slowly. It sometimes felt like the author played a fun TTRPG, and wrote it all down, but it’s just not as fun from the outside. There was a lot of telling rather than showing as well. If you are looking for a fun simple popcorn read, this should do, if you want to sink your teeth into something like Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, or The Stormlight Archive, this will not be satisfying for you.
