This saga is one for the ages, for it so boldly blends aspects of fantasy and real life. While listening to this during preceding weeks of a national election, I realized many similarities between this literary universe and our own. A religion crusaded against specific people for how they were born, as well as those sympathetic to those people’s plight. This was done by fear and hatred. All the while, so many deeper histories are uncovered and realized.

This place of magic, monsters, and millennia is one of my new favorites.

Wonderful storytelling

Some of the small pieces of humor are my favorite things about this audiobook. This would make a great movie or television series. Part of what brings this together is Fisher Stevens; he’s an excellent narrator.

I think this is an interesting perspective of the many cultural perceptions of death, even for a fictional work.

I first watched the movie based upon this book. I loved it. The book is different but not in any negative way. This book is phenomenal. It should be required reading in public education.

Short, sweet, and sinister

I enjoy the different sound effects added to this narration. They aren’t many, but they are subtle and simple enough to add a nice layer of storytelling not found in most audiobooks. The ending’s potential is great!

Death of a Baby

Wow. I vaguely recall hearing about these events in passing conversation, but I’ve never known many details about them. This should be required media in a high school or basic requirements college curriculum.

30-100 years imprisonment. A baby’s skull being crushed by a police officer. The City of Philadelphia bombing its own citizens. Eleven people burned alive because the city mayor elected to let it burn. Murdered children’s bones being kept for research purposes by Philadelphia colleges.

Great storytelling embroidery! The different characters’ interwoven storyline details come together really well. I greatly anticipate reading the proceedings novels!

Joyfully cerebral and entertaining!!

This series embodies some of the best aspects science fiction and human reflection. Its variety of characters, geographic setting, and plot twists is enthralling. I would make this series a high school or college literature course unit.

FANTAZMAGORIKAL!!!!!!

This set of books is so much fun!!!!!! Futuristic scheming fuses ancient life with modern humanism for a harrowing adventure. I enjoyed this as much as “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World”! This would make a phenomenal television series.

Fantastic and Gripping

I had no idea this was so new. I’m glad it showed up as a suggestion. This is nearly as good as “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World”. This would be excellent for a long roadtrip. I’ll likely be re-listening to this immediately after I finish it, today!
