Historia
When a white, middle-class, Christian, heterosexual, able-bodied man begins to question all of these cultural realities that he has been raised within, something is sure to give. The cultural fishbowl is sure to be cracked. Woven is such a story. The gradual awakening of a man to his gender, economic, and racial privilege. It is the story of growing up within contemporary evangelicalism, the dissatisfaction that began to arise, and the subsequent journey of self-discovery. Woven is a story of dissatisfaction. A story of struggling and wrestling, and questioning.

Historia
When Rodgers came out to her family as a junior in high school, she still believed that God would sanctify her and eventually make her straight. Wanting so intensely to be good, she spent her adolescent and early adult years with an ex-gay ministry, praying for liberation from her homosexuality. In Outlove, Rodgers details her deeply personal journey from a life of self-denial in the name of faith to her role in leading the take-down of Exodus International, the largest ex-gay organization in the world, to her marriage to a woman at the Washington National Cathedral.

Historia
As a father of three, married to a wonderful woman, and holding several prominent jobs within the Christian community, Dr. Paula Stone Williams made the life-changing decision to physically transition from male to female at the age of 60. Almost instantly, her power and influence in the evangelical world disappeared and her family had to grapple with intense feelings of loss and confusion. Paula struggled to create a new safe space for herself where she could reconcile her faith, her identity, and her desire to be a leader.

Heartfelt and inspiring
Revisado: 06-19-21
I loved this memoir by Paula Stone. Thank Paula you for sharing your incredible story with us. I listened to it on audio and could feel the emotion as it resignated throughout the book. I myself have an adult Trans son who welcomed me into his journey from the beginning. I am so grateful for the stories, for the lives lived, for the education, and the graciousness of those who continue to suffer with not only dysphoria, but with rejection. Praying that someday we will all just be the hands and feet of Jesus as we walk towards and welcome in all those on the margins. I will definitely be recommending this book to others!

Historia
It’s no secret that we are overworked, overpressured, and edging burnout. Unsurprisingly, this fact is as old as time - and that’s why we see so many prayer circles within a multitude of church traditions. These gatherings are a trusted space where people seek help, hope, and peace, energized by God and one another. This book, curated by acclaimed author Sarah Bessey, celebrates and honors that prayerful tradition in a literary form.

A reflection each of us...
Revisado: 04-11-21
Beautiful, Honest, Heartfelt, Heartbreaking, yet FULL of Hope. There are things in this book that we have ALL thought or felt and maybe just didn't have the words. Thank you for speaking up so vulnerably and giving us words!

Historia
Whether our notions of "God" are personal projections or inherited traditions, author and theologian Brad Jersak proposes a radical reassessment, arguing for a more Christlike God and a more beautiful Gospel. A More Christlike God suggests that such a God would be very good news indeed - a God who Jesus "unwrathed" from dead religion, a love that is always toward us, and a grace that pours into this suffering world through willing, human partners.

Historia
Meet Laurie Suzanne Scott. She is both an evangelical Christian and transgender. Raised in a devoutly Christian home, she endured the unbelievably difficult and complicated odyssey of finding her identity as a woman...without losing her identity in Christ. A journey she barely survived. In God Doesn't Make Mistakes: Confessions of a Transgender Christian, Laurie tells her story of growing up playing a role as unnatural to her as the body with which she was born.
