I tried, I really did but no. A blind vampire that can smell her beauty ( insert eyeroll) and the worst Mary Sue I've ever read.

A nice read but not for me
Revisado: 04-02-15
I was given this audiobook in return for an honest review.
The narrator did a great job. His character voices were distinct and I didn't roll my eyes when he did female voices. The story was good and the plot well thought out. Wilson did a nice job building a completely solid world. I should have cared for the characters more but something held me back. I just couldn't escape into the story.

Historia
In a dystopian future, fertile women are so hard to come by that they are now bought and sold for huge sums of money across the world. You could say that women are now the new currency. Curvy Kira Southerly is one of the few remaining fertile women left on the planet and she has resigned herself to the fate of being sold.

Good idea, poor execution. Annoying narrartor

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
The premise sounded interesting but the actual story fails short, incredibly short! She's a virgin sold as a wife. You would think it would take more than hello for her to start begging the brothers to bed her, but no. There is no chemistry between any of the characters. No explanation for the dragons. No end to the monotone portrayal of the characters. i don't know which was more annoying the lack of believable storyline or the lack of skilled narration.

Historia
Satina knows better than anyone that gangs are bad news. As a Granter, she uses her magic to help people escape them. So far, her sole reward has been a life on the run, dodging from pocket to pocket and only landing in the ordinary world long enough to put her special skills to use. When the goodmother arrives in Westwood, however, a magic-hungry gang is just one step behind her, and their leader wants more than just the town. He wants Satina, and he'll do anything, use anyone, to get her.

Unlikely, an unexpected find

I was given a copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The characters are well developed and quite likeable. It has a good pace and flows nicely. I thought the world the author created was well constructed. I am looking forward to the rest of this series because the author leaves the reader with just enough unanswered questions. I would recommend this book for adults that enjoy reading children's fiction and obviously for tweens and adolescents. The narrator did a fair job, with no mispronunciations.(If you listen to audio books as much as I do, you know how important that is!)

Jessica Moxly needed a distraction. Plagued by horrific nightmares, actually visions, and an upcoming job interview, she was desperate for something else to think about. In a last-ditch effort to dream about something, anything that didn't involve blood or fear, she asks her witch friend's Goddess for help. Then the dreams about him started. A beautiful man with no face but icy pale blue eyes began to haunt her dreams with the promise of passion.

A fun read even if it borrowed heavily from Sookie
Revisado: 03-27-15
What made the experience of listening to Into the Light the most enjoyable?
It was a fun listen and made me laugh. I don't know if I was supposed to laugh, but I did. I enjoyed this book even if it did borrow heavily from Anne Rice and Charlaine Harris. French vampire rockstar and a very similar plot to Living Dead in Dallas.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Into the Light?
Jaques was my favorite character.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
He did okay, women's voices were a little eye roll worthy but not too bad. He did mispronounce one word several times and that makes me COMPLETELY insane! Why doesn't someone, anyone bother to check these types of things before release?
Any additional comments?
