Exquisitely Performed!
Revisado: 04-11-21
I had never read a Philippa Gregory novel before this one and did not know what to expect. As soon as I started listening I was enchanted! This book is 16 1/2 hrs long and I enjoyed every minute of it.
There were a few times when it seemed a bit repetitive as if beating a horse to death over a point it was trying to make. :-)
But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Now I look forward to listening to many more books by this author!
What a gift!!

Exquisitely Woven Tapestry of Life
Revisado: 09-25-20
I absolutely loved this audiobook! I’ve been listening to books on audible for many years and sometimes the narrator is not ideal, or maybe the content is boring at times but this audiobook is EXCEPTIONAL! The narrator is exquisite and the content in riveting and remains riveting throughout until an ending that gave me chills when I realized its unvoiced ramifications.
If you love Paris as much as I do and if you love the early years of the 20th century, you will love this book. It takes you on three different journeys that are very gently woven into the tapestry of life.
I don’t usually review audiobooks but I would be remiss if I didn’t invite you to experience this captivating work of art.

Fantastic in Every Way!!
Revisado: 08-08-15
I just this moment finished listening and I'm overcome with emotion. How will I find the words? It's the experience of having truly been there somehow. Was it a story I somehow knew from my past? I won't know. I only know I am truly grateful for Annemarie Selinko's writing of this book and for Nicole Quinn's artful narration. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to every single word of this book and I know I will listen to it again and again! It's a treasure!

Relaxing Chakra Healing
Revisado: 03-27-14
I teach YOGA and these Guided Chakra Meditations are perfect for the Deep Relaxation at the end of class called YOGA NIDRA. Glenn Harrold is a hypnotherapist living in England who has a wonderful Aussie sounding accent. He gives the tone and color and visualization for each Chakra along with corresponding affirmations. This was my first encounter with Glenn but have noticed he has a wealth of other Audio Books. I'm going to be using them for my class as well!

Historia
With swordfights and romance, adventure and treachery set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, this is the book that made Sabatini famous. Andre-Louis Moreau has good prospects as a young lawyer, but an unfair duel with the ruthlessly cruel Count de La Tour d'Azyr leaves Andre-Louis' best friend dead and Andre-Louis himself a fugitive from the King's justice. While incognito, he becomes both a wildly popular actor and a firebrand of the Revolution.

Scaramouche is BRILLIANT!
Revisado: 03-27-14
This is perhaps the BEST audio book I have ever listened to. I just wish the author were around so I could congratulate him on this brilliant work of art. Credit must also be given to the narrator, whose amazing talent for expressing all of the various characters makes this read exceptional. In fact, the narrator is SCARAMOUCHE!! [Once you listen to this audio book, you'll know what I mean! ] The author [and the narrator] paint a tableau of France during the Revolution AND develop the characters so exquisitely that the tableau comes to life. I listen to audio books while I walk and this one made me laugh out-loud and brought tears to my eyes as well. It is extremely well written and artfully read aloud. BRAVO!

Madame Tussaud-An Exquisite Experience
Revisado: 12-27-13
If you could sum up Madame Tussaud in three words, what would they be?
Captivating Transformative Journey
What other book might you compare Madame Tussaud to and why?
Living the French Revolution and the Age of Napoleon, Narrated by Professor Suzanne M. Desan is similar in a sense that you get a feel for what people experienced during the French Revolution.
Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first of Rosalyn Landor's performances that I've listened to but I plan to listen to more!
If you could rename Madame Tussaud, what would you call it?
"Madame Tussaud: Angel of Death"
Any additional comments?
This AUDIO book has given me the gift of the most profound insight into the life of people in France during the French Revolution. I was completely enthralled during the entire listening of this enactment. And yet, what I received from listening to this book is beyond words. I was transported into those times as if I were truly there. I am supremely grateful to Ms. Landor's talent for bringing to life the very real pathos of these very people. In a sense, she has immortalized them further into our hearts.
