Historia
In the wake of a humbling incident aboard a canal boat in the Cotswolds, young Captain Horatio Hornblower arrives in London to take command of the Atropos, a 22-gun sloop barely large enough to require a captain. Her first assignment under Hornblower's command is as flagship for the funeral procession of Lord Nelson. Soon Atropos is part of the Mediterranean Fleet's harassment of Napoleon, recovering treasure that lies deep in Turkish waters

Narrator was good, but mispronounced much of the naval terminology. Otherwise was a good and fun listen.

Historia
Stephen Fry and John Bird star in all four series of the BBC Radio 4 satirical comedy, plus the 2006 special episode. Set in the Machiavellian world of modern PR, Absolute Power introduces us to London-based 'government-media relations consultancy' Prentiss McCabe, whose partners Charles Prentiss and Martin McCabe are frequently embroiled in the machinations of the British political system.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Simply terrible
Revisado: 05-01-17
What was most disappointing about Craig Alanson’s story?
The entire book is written from the point of view of a grunt. While some people may appreciate this, I don't like the first person narrative.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of R.C. Bray?
His NE accent was so thick it was difficult to understand.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. I turned it off after chapter three. The entire story just screams of the current cult of military and American Exceptionalism that gives us a bad name in the world. It feels like Red Dawn, which is even mentioned in the first chapter.
